Say something good about Miami!

Another Gator great, Kevin Carter, is also from Miami.

 

The best thing about Miami is that it isn’t the most southern point of Florida. There is still a good bit of Florida to redeem itself for Miami as you get south of there.

 

My mother was born in Florala (town half in Florida and half in Alabama)…
I’m guessing THAT’S about as far away from Alabama as you can get while still being in Florida?

 

I saw the Doors in concert in 1969 in Miami.

I'll take your word for it. I don't visit Florida much unless one of the rentals needs work. I just remember the good food my wife and I had when we would head down to SF and the keys when I was in school at UF. That was almost 20 years ago.

 

FWIW, Tampa's had a thriving Cuban community since the 19th Century. Miami's dates back to Castro.

I havent been to it in over 20 years.

 

Both parents were born in Miami. One went to Carol City High School and the other Miami Central.

 

I was there the night the Fins beat the Bears on that historic Monday night. It was louder than the Swamp, I swear.

Wow! I believe that is the concert where the rumor was started Morrison exposed himself; pretty sure it wasn’t true. But, I recall reading he was drunk as hell and tried to entice fans to come on stage and a near riot ensued. Did you see any of this stuff?
