Georgia should have just closed musically after The Allman Brothers. This will not be topped anytime soon.
Yep, read where they are tearing down Derek Jeter's 22,000 SF mansion on Davis Island to build a new 30,000 SF one.
I thought I left it when I left that craphole, but now that craphole is invading the rest of the state. Yea. More pre-fab "mixed use" buildings that will be dated in a decade!
Apparently you needed an additional 8,000 sf. Maybe for your Ferrari and Bugatti display rooms (true story, we did that for a house on the intercoastal going toward Ft. Desoto.)
Something good about Georgia???? Whoa man... Im gonna have to take a timeout to think about that. In fact... Two timeouts.
I am confused whenever I hear this? Both Duane and Greg were from Daytona Beach, Florida and went to Mainland High School. They had a band that used to play at the Wreck Bar off Main Street as the Allman Joys. My High School English teacher lived next door to them and told us a story about drinking beer with Greg in his back yard when they first heard "I Want to Hold Your Hand" on the radio. He said they laughed at it and both thought it was a joke. I guess the Allman Brothers band was started in Macon, GA?
There's a lot of background info & actual facts available on the Internet - if you just Google 'Gregg Allman', or 'Duane Allman', or even just 'The Allman Brothers Band'. You'll find out where they were born, all about their childhood including where they went to high school, the significance of Macon, and more. I've also posted a few things in this thread and there's a link in the Op with some interesting info. Thanks!
They played some gigs in Jacksonville too at first but moved the band up to Macon when Dickie Jaimo and Grreag joined last as they had no singer. Greg was in LA when they combined the two bands.
