5 or 6 rounds (and impossible to reload) is one of the big downsides of a snubby.

The Sig P365 or the Springfield Hellcat are both slightly smaller than the M206 and are carrying 10 or 11 rounds respectively (+1 if you’re comfortable carrying on a loaded chamber) and can be reloaded quickly. Other big downsides to a small revolver are that a double action trigger is really hard to shoot well, and that a .38 in a little light gun kicks like a mule.

With respect to your other points, the Hellcat doesn’t have a manual safety either (and the P365 is available without one), and I’m not sure what you mean by “less motion” given that both guns can be drawn and fired with no motion needed other than pulling the trigger (and the recoil is worse on the revolver than the sub-compact 9s). With respect to “always going boom,” yes the revolver has the advantage of just pulling the trigger again on a dud round while the semis take a tap rack boom clearance, but essentially any malfunction other than a dud/light-strike in a revolver requires a workbench to clear while most malfunctions in a semi are just a matter of rack the slide and shoot again.

I know there’s some gun store fudds who still try to sell a little pink revolver to any woman who wants a carry gun, but there’s a reason pretty much no defensive handgun trainer recommends them anymore.

I really like my Hellcat. Would recommend. The mag with the pinky rest ups the capacity to 13 + 1.

Like my old man says, “If you need to fire one or two rounds to stop a perpetrator then you don’t need a new gun, you need lessons.”

Sorry, but that kind of quote and calling him “old man” aren’t doing anything to dispel the image of the Fudd meme. :D

    Which reminds me...

I'm in the process of getting a new stovepipe for my wood-burning stove.

Folks at Home Depot told me "just get a Kimber!"

Sit down boys, I have to agree with JJ. Ultimately, the shooter needs to be comfortable with their weapon in their hands. It’s one thing to shoot at a range, but studies have shown that shooting at someone is a whole different ballgame in terms of nerves. If someone is comfortable with a revolver, practice and get good with the revolver. Two shots should be plenty. If not, it still gives you four more.

I have a few revolvers and several more semis. Never had a problem with target ammo in the semis but have had more than a few issues with hollow points.
