judge rules that he cannot use personal bankruptcy to discharge debt. good.

Alex Jones’ $1.1 Billion Legal Catastrophe: U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Deals Blow to Conspiracy Theorist’s Escape Plan (msn.com)

In a groundbreaking ruling, a U.S. bankruptcy judge in Houston, Texas, has decreed that controversial conspiracy theorist Alex Jones cannot use personal bankruptcy to evade the legal consequences of his false claims surrounding the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school tragedy.

The decision, handed down by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez, underscores a critical limitation of bankruptcy law, making it clear that debts resulting from “willful or malicious injury” are not eligible for discharge.

Good. “Strategic bankruptcy” to avoid damages is bullshit anyway, even when it’s not “malicious”. He needs to have court supervision to make sure no money laundering is going on. It was rumored leading up to the trials he was moving money. Every last dollar needs to be accounted for. If he’s not destitute and in a trailer park, his victims need to keep seeking justice.

$165M in a three year period alone, just from the InfoWars online store, with the bait being Sandy Hook “crisis actors.” Those parents were more than just tormented, they were harassed and threatened. AJ attracts the very worst, and they can easily be prodded to prove it. It’s a minor miracle some nut didn’t show up to prove AJ right, like the Comet Ping Pong shooter. People DID show up in person to harass and threaten.

The families offered to settle for $85M. Pennies on the dollar. But staying on brand, AJ refused and has been trying to hide the money instead.

He was paying himself $600K a year in salary, then pencil-whipping the rest of those filthy gains. It’s a near certainty he’s a massive tax cheat too, although that’s moot now (although that can actually get you imprisoned.)

And it hasn’t changed him a bit. He was a belligerent jerk during the trial(s.) He couldn’t fake remorse for more than a few minutes at a time and was enraged when his act didn’t immediately get him out of it. He would go do the SAME STUFF after spending the day on trial. He had the nerve to pivot to the actual trial itself to sell heinous t-shirts, anti-government attack kits, and snake oil pills.

He’s hopelessly malicious. I doubt those families will get a dollar much less a billion.

In one decent win from the God of Irony though, his own lawyers rang him up for $150K in preliminary actions alone. I hope he enjoyed getting fleeced on the way to losing 10000 times more.

He isn't the first guy to have a judgment entered against him that's for more money than he'll see in a lifetime. Though sadly, he just might (see that much money, that is.. ).

Open the books, see what he's got. Poach away.

Knowing how much thst mofo makes, and how he stubbornly refused to settle, and how malicious and intentional the deceit here was, chalk it up to stupid tax (...as he continues to double and triple down on stupid...).

I know better ppl who have been stripped of everything, sent to prison, and come out still owing millions.

Let justice issue forthwith and with extreme prejudice.

    Jmho/fwiw.

some bit of justice. the judge has ordered the auction of all of his corporate assets. He is hoping Musk or Thiel buys them I guess..

Blow for Alex Jones as judge rules on how he'll pay Sandy Hook victims (msn.com)

Alex Jones' Infowars will be auctioned off to help pay the more than $1 billion he owes to the relatives of Sandy Hook victims for claiming the 2012 tragedy was a hoax.

The auction of the media platform and all its assets will start in November, judge Christopher Lopez in Houston said during a court hearing Tuesday in a blow to Jones.
    ......................................................
He also has suggested that Infowars' assets could be bought by his supporters, allowing him to continue hosting his show as an employee under the Infowars brand in their home city of Austin, Texas.

'It´s very cut and dry that the assets of Free Speech Systems, the website, the equipment, the shopping cart, all that, can be sold,' Jones said on a recent show. 'And they know full well that there are a bunch of patriot buyers, and then the operation can ease on.'

Regarding his taxes, Alex Jones overpaid the IRS. Robert Barnes told Jones that the IRS owed him over $4M. When the IRS decided to audit Jones they ended up writing him a check for over $4M.

The value of InfoWars is Alex Jones. What are the plaintiffs getting? The copyright and internet domain, a few cameras and computers? Jones leases the building.

No one can silence Alex Jones. He isn't motivated by money, that's why he never copyrighted his archived material. He's all about the message.
