I just checked 247 as I’ve been watching Qua’s recruitment very closely and there is no crystal predictions for Qua or James as of this moment. People are saying they are a lean but no crystal balls
Is it ‘personnel be damned’ or is it that they think we don’t have the personnel to run an effective 4-3? I know, what they’re running isn’t ‘effective’ for sure, but my question pertains more to why they are doing what they’re doing. Is it stubbornness as you suggest, or a decision based on insufficient personnel?
Good question that man imo, part of me feels like I guess they feel they don't have the personnel to run and do what they want to do. I can see that especially along the DL where we don't have a true game influencer at NT and the size of our DE's now aren't condusive to running a real Bama/UGA 3-4. What you thinking @Skink
I guess I’m thinking our weakest position on D may well be LB, and how do you run a 4-3 without 3 solid linebackers. I mean, Ventrel is the best we’ve got and even he has his shortcomings in pass coverage where we're most vulnerable.
Yep, but Bama lean for both still. Too late to the party I'm afraid. Anything can happen in recruiting though, so we could be pleasantly surprised, but currently we aren't close enough to landing them. They both seem to be a package deal at the moment too. Strange recruitment when this happens, a lot of the times they break that idea up. lol. Only time will tell. Go Gators!
I agree, but one way to fix the pass D is with a dominant front 4 to pressure quicker throws. do they foresee him coming here and drop a star early to avoid the rush?
Yeah I hear you - but I'm thinking we don't have the talent in the backfield to put those guys out on an island without help. It seems to come back to the talent more than bad coaching decisions -- at least I hope so because solving the former is less messy than the latter
I know in several circles we are running second or even third for the duo. But I'm still holding on to my hope CBN and crew win this battle, we shall see.
At some point these rankings' drop (out of nowhere) are going to cost these recruits NIL money. Should there be more oversight and maybe even closer regulations on these "ranking" sights? It makes me sick to even type this, and that we've come to this point, but something has to be done about these CROOKED ORGANIZATIONS that supposedly rank high school football players in an honest way. But they are playing games with these kids for what reason? I can only think that other teams and outside sources... or payments might be involved to these "ranking" services. Go to the Gators and get a drop in your potential NIL deal. However it might appear, this kids still might not come to Gainesville, but if he does? Then we know Rivals is a compromised rankings site, because this would NOT be the first time they've done this to a Gator recruit. We'll see.
It's not something that I really want, nor do I think it will change. I just want to know how do these sites suddenly, without any explanation, drop the ranking of a player that choose the Gators... or that drops Bama from consideration? I know that these rankings are all different and they average out, but it is "interesting" that our recruits suddenly drop when they choose us, or when the eliminate Bama.
I know what you mean, bobby. That recruitment of McClain was all about the money. He'll have fun playing in an empty stadium.
