I think the bye week will do us some good next week against UGA. Good thing is that we aren't unhealthy like we use to be under previous staffs by this time of year.

I agree with all of what you said though; we are a team that's going to fight in every game and always will have a chance which is why I think we're going to see a HUGE leap on the field next season. It's like you SEE "it", but "it" just hasn't come fully together yet. I think we see what CBN wants to do offensively and defensively as far as style of play, but we're just seeing a year one watered down version of it

I don't think all losses happened because of one player. Other players including coaches contributed to losses.

I didn’t say that though. My point was of all the mistakes we made, offense and defense, we actually might be undefeated or a 1 loss team if Trey Dean didn’t make his egregious mistakes

High football iq is just as important as talent. A great defense does need a couple or a few elite guys but eleven working as one is just as key. We are suffering worse from breakdowns than actual elite talent. We don’t have gamechangers but …… Jesus

Not the 9 9 9? Some talk show host ran for president on that?

This year we could probably use the whole 2-deep roster on defense. Just double everybody on the opponents offense and we should be good.

I've also yet to see the team quit when being down. That's big IMO, that means CBN has been mentally conditioning them, and that will pay HUGE dividends later on.

True, but that was something I always admired in Mike White’s teams also. They fought hard but lost too often.

This is true, but we also need to fix how we line up especially in 3rd downs, that's on the coaches to fix. And we need to learn our assignments, that's on both the coaches but mostly on the players individually. And... the scheme is what it is with the personnel that we have.

I DO think that mental errors cost us at least one game... and maybe even two of our three losses this year.

You’re right…until someone comes up with the 6-6-6 defense. Reminds me of the 7-minute abs scene in There’s Something About Mary lol

Both have crystal balls to Alabama. Bama is also in the lead for 3 other 5 stars. If they land all of them they will clean up this recruiting cycle with 10 5 stars which is insane.

Someone is going to sit on the bench and not be happy. And that happens to them all the time. When will these kids learn.

Tim Smith all over again. Lot of hope. Lot of smoke and then the obvious choice is still made. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed so I will continue to expect that stay in Bama than believe we are anything more than a hat on the table. That's not to say we aren't doing great recruiting this year but I would love to see us getting some backers and linemen that can see the field day one like Georgia and Bama have been doing for some time now.
