Probably fairly accurate and another handful more that are passed on the depth chart.

Some of that is expecting a RB to pick up a 230+ DE/LB in interior pass protection. That is a mismatch and a half. Our tight formation ends up wadding the defense in the middle of the field and makes it easier to mess up the blocking scheme. It is harder to tell who is coming and who is dropping.

Spread formations leave 5-6 defenders in the middle of the field and makes it easier to determine who blocks who. It also opens up quick slants if they want to blitz and makes any blitz easier to diagnose. Our tight formation brings 8 players into the box within 5 yards of the LOS, and complicates the pass blocking.

You don’t have to block someone that you can’t handle physically but you can impede them. Become a speed bump if that’s what you have to do but if you can’t block you won’t play rb in tge nfl. There’s plenty of smaller backs that do a fine job on Sundays.

Thinking he’s going to transfer is really dumb in the first place. His brother plays for the Jags.

Even so, he's like a golden glove shortstop that only hits .200. He'll always find a home. I think he will improve all aspects of his game, but, even if he doesn't, he's a huge part of our team. ETN is not the problem.

And if he could Johnson would be a 4th qtr back. It's why he isn't the main event. Sucks too because he can run the rock

I used to despise schools that would push kids out, but it's the norm now. That said, add 3-4 more to make room for OL transfers.

Get out of here with the “his guy” narrative. They are both his guys and have you seen ETN block?

It's a brave new world with NIL, student athlete is pretty much not a thing for football at least. If they can't perform it should be handled like any other job.

This is what I hate about today's college football. There is little loyalty on the part of the players and certainly by the coaches. How does a coach develop continuity amongst the program when there is so much turnover every year? Players leave because of lack of playing time, coaches have to start from scratch every year and players are dealing with wholesale changes. Coaches will never reach the continuity needed to develop esprit and loyalty among players and younger players don't develop into the players they could be. It's just a big f@323n mess. I agree 100%. When I stated in another post that I believed NIL would destroy the sport as we know it, these are the elements I was referring to. An aspect of the game that I always enjoyed and for me separated the college game from the pro game was the loyalty, the thought that some of those players grew up rooting for and wanting to play for THAT school, they loved that school growing up and stepping on that field was the successful realization of a dream. Now that it is about negotiating a paycheck and the dream is nothing more than looking at your banking app and seeing zeros, a chunk of the luster is missing from the sport.

More gratuitous Coach Napier bashing. Leaving it since folks see it for what it is. Coach has clearly demonstrated he plays the best available, despite seniority. The team is made up of "his guys." If someone is getting fewer snaps, or more snaps, there's a reason. We may not know it but the players know, and they love Coach and trust him.
