Did you even bother to read what I wrote? I didn't call it fake, I said with AI there is a potential and the timing of it makes me skeptical. I'm simply saying let's see, and if true it is very damning. I'm just not going to take the word of Newsweek on its own. First you guys call us cultist and follow right along, then some left leaning report comes out and you guys follow right along. The timing and source make me skeptical, doesn't make me call it fake, let's get a little more clarity.

I agree that the timing is interesting. Having said that, none of the articles I’ve read reflect that anyone allegedly involved has denied the reporting.

When is the timing not interesting for the right? No matter what happens, it's always, "I find the timing very interesting. The left is just trying to distract you from (insert right wing taking point like Hunter Biden, inflation, crime, etc.)." There is no time when bad news for the Orange menace isn't just some supposed distraction.

Yes, I did read what you wrote, and that's exactly why I said what I said. Immediately you start with the AI deepfake stuff. Nobody is a trustworthy source... not even Newsweek. Is it possible that this is AI generated? Yes, but how often has the Trump evidence been AI generated? What would cause you to introduce that so early without any denial from Trump himself? You have all these people who were involved and witnesses to the event and you think it's made up?

But that's the playbook. Don't call it fake... say it's possible that it's fake to introduce doubt.

Actually Newsweek is a crap source. I don’t even think it’s connected in any way to the Newsweek you are probably thinking of (which basically shut down). It’s one of those “zombie” sites that just took Newsweek’s name and logo.

But Newsweek didn’t scoop this anyway, so that isn’t all that relevant. Seems the source is the Detroit News.

Regarding the AI stupid comments, Trump has been documented calling about every elected official in the swing states to try and change the results. There is no intelligent reason to doubt the veracity. Plus there were parties on both ends of the phone who could verify it.

... "no intelligent reason" ... that is the part where you are going to lose a lot of MAGA sheep.

You are probably 100% right. We have become so partisan as a nation and at every turn everyone is paling gotcha to the other side. So just like when the right has said smoking gun coming out, I am usually just as skeptical, that is all I'm saying. And the left has had an armory of smoking guns on Trump and yet he still standing, so I will remain skeptical.

I still think Trump’s biggest problem is here in GA, where the state’s RICO statute allows evidence of acts like this Michigan phone call (similar to his one in GA and likely other places) to be entered into evidence if it demonstrates the furtherance of a “criminal enterprise” (which is the heart of RICO)

IMO this call is actually worse for him than the GA call from a pure legal perspective. Michigan election officials were offered a direct benefit (free lawyers) for their omission of an official act (failing to certify). Pretty easy to argue there’s a direct quid pro quo out of that in an effort to influence public officials.

But who knows whether he’s convicted. As much as I despise Trump and wish he would simply disappear, I don’t like all these lawsuits-makes him a martyr and exacerbates the ultimately fatal divide in this country. Best for all of us if both parties decide it’s time for new leadership and they jettisoned both candidates for someone younger. I’d love to see a race like Haley/Newsom take shape, instead of Grumpy Old Men II. Then at least we could talk about plans and vision for the future instead of the revenge (“he sucks/yeah but I’m not him”) tour we are about to be subjected to.

I agree 100%!! It seems there is around 40-45% that every time something comes out about Trump they support him even more because of the martyr aspect and on the other hand 40-45% that believe Trump is the anti-Christ and anything that could exonerate him is nothing but grifting and fall even deeper into the hatred of him.
It is really sad for both sides!!

Are you really trying to both sides the people who like Trump more because of his crimes and moral/ethical shortcomings alongside the people who don't believe he should be President again for those same reasons??? Wow

I don't know how to say clearer!
More alleged crimes of Trump- People who already like him, like him more because he is a martyr
More alleged crimes of Trump- People who dislike and believe the claims hate him even more.

I agree with your premise. I just took offense to "it's sad for both sides." People should get upset when an elected official is abusing their power and committing crimes (allegedly for now). IMO it's really only sad if that makes someone like him more.

Seems to me like Trump used a carrot for one and a stick for the other.
