I will probably be surprised and disgusted at the amount of support this attempt at declaring a winner by means other than the ballot box will get.

 

If the allegation is true, McDaniel absolutely should be prosecuted in Michigan. But why the heck would this take 3 years to come out? I realize investigations take time, and in a conspiracy you may have a network of criminal actors, but seems like with blatant evidence like a recorded phone call should help expedite the proceedings a great deal.

 

True. It does say recorded by someone “present for the conversation”. So it’s not like the call itself was immediately available public record or accessible to law enforcement. Good point. This person (presumably another Republican official in MI) may have sat on their recording for their own aims rather than immediately turn it over to law enforcement.

No ides if any of this is accurate or not, with AI and its capabilities and the fact this comes out three later as Trump is surging in polls and Bidumb is falling should make everyone just pause a minute to confirm the veracity of the tapes.
If true though it is very concerning.

 

I think a lot of Republicans thought Trump wouldn’t really be an issue in 2024 so they let it slide when he lost in 2020. Considering Republicans were behind the move to keep Trump off the ballot in CO and now it appears they’re releasing a tape previously only known to them should signal that some of the moderate Republicans are not happy with Trump being the front runner.

 

Never considered AI, my first thought was actually “sounds pretty much like the same thing they tried to pull in Georgia”. Did you think the Georgia call was an AI deepfake?

If it were a bad actor doing an AI misinformation drop it would probably originate anonymously in the cesspool of social media first (as so much misinformation does). In this case sounds like they knew who did the recording and it’s going through normal channels.

My other thought is it could be someone in the Michigan iteration of the “fake elector” scheme having a come to Jesus moment once Michigan’s investigation started looking at them. Just trying to get out of their own criminal charges.

 

As I said timing is everything and the timing is at least suspicious. May all be accurate and true but the way everyday "things" just seem to pop up to destroy someone that a group may not like just causes me to pause a minute and try to not overreact till we hear "The rest of the story"!

 

Typical playbook. First its show me the evidence. When evidence is presented, it’s fake. But worse than that it’s the “we don’t know if it’s real” argument.

Prior to 2020 is there any record of the loser of ANY losing presidential candidate in the almost 250 year history of the United States contacting by whatever means then available state and local election officials to ask them to find votes, or to not certify an election, or to not follow their state voting laws or constitution, or to not follow the certification process outlined by their state statutes, or to access voting machines, or to throw out validly cast ballots, or to essentially ignore the results of a free and fair election as confirmed numerous times by numerous states with objective audits, recounts, etc?

Cause that’s how big a scumbag this guy is.
