I said it’s a consideration. I didn’t say they won’t indict him because of it. There is definitely a cost-benefit analysis, and a calculation as to whether the case is airtight.

 

It’s simple. They either have enough to indict or they don’t. This isn’t rocket science. Since they haven’t indicted him or anyone else, I revert back to dog and pony.

 

No, it’s not that simple. It’s actually very complex. The law is very careful about establishing a precedent. If it were commonplace to charge a President with crimes, I think we would likely have already seen an indictment. If there is serious doubt about the ability to convict Trump, taking him to trial and him winning would only serve to send the message that what he and his supporters did is legal. Criminals are not always convicted, so it is a very delicate situation. That’s not all the considerations, but it is just one example of why it’s not simply a matter of guilt.

 

So my take is a little different. I won’t watch anything Trump and haven’t for years. I voted him in and watched him speak and decided I’d pass. So I have no interest as I’m still have fatigue over that dude.
Really want him to move on….maybe he can become a shark tank investor or something else.

 

It is simple, either the DOJ has enough evidence to think they win or they don’t. It’s obvious they don’t. Hence dog and pony.

 

So the answer to my questions is no, correct?

 

Not crooked, compromised by loyalties to things other than the constitution.

 

The MAGA bandaid..i fear that after Trump there will remain a residual core of MAGA that will continue to flame the fires of internal division

I agree wholeheartedly with that but I don’t believe Garland much cares what the congressional politicians think. Charging a former President with crimes would represent a big honking deal so I would expect the WH would be well informed about DOJ’s intentions.
