He did vote for 17B in funding thru the amendment. Not sure why so many people can't understand this. Not sure why the arguing. It's very simple.

Here is the full text of the amendment DeSantis voted for, can you identify the 17B in funding?

After section 904 (but before the short title), insert the
    following new section:
Sec. 905. (a) There is hereby rescinded an amount equal to
    1.63 percent of--
    (1) the budget authority provided (or obligation limitation
imposed) for fiscal year 2013 for any discretionary account
    in any fiscal year 2013 appropriation Act;
    (2) the budget authority provided in any advance
appropriation for fiscal year 2013 for any discretionary
account in any prior fiscal year appropriation Act; and
    (3) the contract authority provided in fiscal year 2013 for
any program that is subject to a limitation contained in any
fiscal year 2013 appropriation Act for any discretionary
    account.
    (b) Any rescission made by subsection (a) shall be applied
    proportionately--
    (1) to each discretionary account and each item of budget
authority described in such subsection; and
    (2) within each such account and item, to each program,
project, and activity (with programs, projects, and
activities as delineated in the appropriation Act or
accompanying reports for the relevant fiscal year covering
such account or item, or for accounts and items not included
in appropriation Acts, as delineated in the most recently
    submitted President's budget).
    (c) In the case of any fiscal year 2013 appropriation Act
enacted after the date of enactment of this section, any
rescission required by subsection (a) shall take effect
immediately after the enactment of such Act.
    (d) Within 30 days after the date of enactment of this
section (or, if later, 30 days after the enactment of any
fiscal year 2013 appropriation Act), the Director of the
Office of Management and Budget shall submit to the
Committees on Appropriations of the House of Representatives
and the Senate a report specifying the account and amount of
each rescission made pursuant to subsection (a).

Demonstrably false as shown repeatedly. His vote, even if the amendment had passed, would not have authorized a single dollar. That required another vote on a bill that had funding in it.

In 2006-ish, when the pubs were freely ringing the cash register for GWB, Sen. Obama grandstanded with a No vote on raising the debit ceiling. His vote was not critical, so he could play politics. I'm sure if his vote meant pass or fail and the ability of the US to pay it's bills was hanging on him he would've voted yes.

Desantis voted No on Sandy relief. As a technical matter - what bill or amendment did he vote on, how did he vote - it's inarguable that he voted No on Sandy relief. But his vote didn't matter, so he could play politics with it. I'm (pretty) sure if his vote was critical and meant yes or no on disaster relief, he would've voted yes.

When Pres. Obama needed the debt ceiling raised, he got dragged by the pubs for his hypocritical stance and now it's Desantis' turn. Tough. It may have won him a few fans back then, but it makes him look like an ass now - as if he needed any more help.

DeKatrina now saying that the national media wanted Ian to hit Tampa to hurt him politically more.

How can this country govern with clowns like this saying this stuff?

Yeah it's very simple. He voted against funding (with no offsets) in 2013. He voted for funding (with no offsets) in 2017.

Even @gator95 knows that Desantis didn't vote for $17b but he's dug his heels so far in that he can't find a way out

He did vote for 17b in sandy funding. You and the other libbies are too partisan to understand it. It’s ok, you can’t help it because you are so far left.

Think you are likely right about the intentions at the time....of course the irony is that his playing politics has others playing politics now. And so it goes, the mess that is our current political quagmire
