I also have to think that she may feel far differently if the 10-year old pregnant victim of rape was her daughter.
I think that of some of our "abortion is murder, no exceptions" posters. If God forbid, and to be ultra clear, I would NOT wish this on ANYONE EVER, it was one of their daughters that was brutally raped, I can't imagine they would be spouting off about innocent fetuses when it's their daughter throwing up every morning and their own child's belly getting bigger every day. Forcing someone to carry to term in that situation is like allowing her to be raped every day. That is in addition to the incredible physical toll it would take on a child that age to carry to term. That woman is a monster.
North Carolina on the verge of banning abortion after 12 weeks, bringing it in line with most European countries …
Looks like the ballot initiative was officially announced: Groups Push Initiative to Put Florida Abortion Rights on Ballot – NBC 6 South Florida
Baby killing is already illegal. Every state has laws against murder and manslaughter. Fetuses and embryos are usually not considered babies.
So it magically becomes a baby when it exits the womb ? Maybe you need to hound expectant mothers who refer to their babies on the way.
I see where they kept the language ultra simple. No attempt to turn Roe into an amendment. Should be much better able to withstand the intense judicial scrutiny coming. Edit: Is that just the summary? Where's the full text? "See separate document for the full text of the proposed constitutional amendment."
It looks like the language is indeed that simple. https://floridaphoenix.com/2023/05/...ight-to-abortion-in-the-florida-constitution/
Ive got at least 15 voters in my family ready to sign. My daughter shouldn't have to live elsewhere out of fear while all women suffer from obgyn flight out of state. That is ALL women that will suffer as the schools get fewer obgyn applications and those here leave for places where politicians dont make medical decisions of that order.
Didn’t the FL legislature overturn a pot legalization amendment years ago? Can the legislature just override an amendment?
A fetus is like an egg a day before birthing and like a chicken the day after ? I’ll bet you can’t explain what a woman is either.
The FL Legislature undermined it. But no, they can't overturn a constitutional amendment. With how simple and straightforward it is, it would make the Florida Supreme Court look awfully bad to try and block it. That, of course, doesn't mean they won't necessarily do it anyways.
