Im Catholic. Sanctity of life is and has been a cornerstone value from time immemorial. Its much bigger than mere politics.

    Your views are ridiculous.

You ridiculously accept the fiction that human life is on par with fecal matter.

That's horseshit. Grossly disordered and amoral. A fundamental character flaw.

Politics is an afterthought to that.

If that’s true and it’s murder shouldn’t states expose everyone who has murdered a baby? There isn’t a statue of limitations on murder.

This stupidity is akin to saying that wearing a condom during sex is mass murder of babies.

But you'd have to be that stupid to believe 2000 Mules so it tracks.

At the end of the day abortion is mostly about religion. To say otherwise is disingenuous.

I hope you are right but I doubt it. Posting rage on Tik Tok is not the same thing as actually going out to vote for a candidate that will mostly support your rights but you don’t like 100%.

Apparently, the poster who rated the post "come on man" didn't bother to read the linked article. It was a well researched essay clearly documenting that the reason the right to an abortion wasn't an issue at the time the Constitution was ratified was because governments didn't interfere with the personal decisions of women. Abortion was a private decision at the time. Termination of pregnancy was only discouraged after "quickening" roughly in the second trimester.

Sanctity of human life is stupid to you.

    Duly noted.

The swimmers you (probably habitually) flush down your toilet, are no more human beings than the eggs you eat for breakfast are baby chickens.

There's another step involving another crucial ingredient in both cases, that's missing.

Neither sperm nor unfertilzed eggs are human life.

And hasn’t been that long since the GOP took up the religious right’s banner in order to secure their votes. Many of them have convinced themselves that they believe abortion is a sin.

Did the bible discuss the use of drugs on pregnant women to test their fidelity? Fetus survives, she was faithful, fetus dies, she must have cheated. It would seem that they had no problem with aborting a fetus

They are alive and they contain human dna. Why aren’t they a human life?

Humans have 46 chromosomes, sperm and unfertilized eggs have 23 chromosomes.

But the 23 chromosomes are human chromosomes.

Downs Syndrome have more than 46 chromosomes. I guess they aren’t human? Aborting them must be ok.

I side with you in the argument, but technically speaking, your omelet can have aborted chicken embryos in it if a rooster has access to the henhouse.

Meh. We flushed two miscarriages - around the 6 & 8 week mark. Apparently I’m the father of four and have suffered the loss of two dead children. Who knew? I bet someone who lost a kid in a shooting or to cancer would love for me to tell them I know how they feel.
