Walls are ineffective because they can easily be climbed, tunneled under, or cut so people can walk through. And again, a breach doesn't equal a single human. It equals a single hole where multiple humans can walk through.

I live about 3 hours away from the border, have school age kids, and work full time. Not a lot of time to cut the border wall. But if the 3,000 times the wall has been cut already isn't enough proof for you, I'll pick a day in the next few months and a place.
