I'm not defending Ibarra. Just pointing out that he was here legally, on an asylum request. And from Venezuela, which meant he had a free six months here. If he wasn't here legally, then Governor Abbot would not have been able to transport him from Texas to the east coast. This isn't defense of Ibarra. It's simply the truth.

Now, had we had more judges, maybe we could have figured out what kind of monster Ibarra was before he killed anyone? Or, if we had a better system of checking new arrivals at the border asking for asylum and/or a guest worker visa, that might have worked as well. As is, our current system allows for people to remain here, legally, for months, if not years.

I'd also like to point out that in general, undocumented immigrants commit less felony crime than citizens. Doesn't mean it is zero, but any population of millions will have some bad apples. The population of undocumented immigrants also has a ton of hard working people, doing jobs that if they didn't do them, would likely go unfilled. 8 million of them in our work force.

But if we only had a wall....manned with thousands of armed guards 24/7, and maybe add some dogs and landmines, and all problems solved, am I right? LOL.

So walls work. Thanks for agreeing. See, that wasn’t hard at all.

Laken Riley’s killer should’ve never been let in our country. The rest is you making it fit the narrative. Stay in Mexico and a secure border would’ve done that. Walls work very well if there is use of Video, AI and increased border patrol personal.

Whether you think Ibarra should have been in the country or not, the fact is, he was here legally. That is not in dispute. You could argue we should change the law, and that's fine. But your statement Ibarra shouldn't have been here doesn't fit with the fact that as a Venezuelan seeking asylum, he was here, at the time, legally.

As for wall, they are defensible positions. Think we can fortify 2000 miles of wall like East Berlin did with less than 100 miles? And in Berlin, it was all city. Our border includes river, mountains, and desert. So I ask, just how feasible is it to have armed guards 24/7, landmines, and dogs in the desert in Yuma? The mountains around Douglas? Or along the Rio Grande in Texas?

Because without the fortifications, the wall itself is useless. As shown throughout human history.

"He was arrested multiple times in the past 2 years. ICE requested a detainer but the courts refused to work with ICE. He was released each time and had all charges dropped."

^ Poster has multiple news alert feeds programmed solely for "immigrant crime."

    Sad.

Also; Gatormonk, were you ever able to identify that crime-free work force that was going to take over the appx 9 million jobs currently performed by illegals?

And if we evict all the illegals, are you just going to shift the focus of your vigilant 24/7 crime watch?
    - "Hey everyone!! Look at this crime just performed by a person from _______, admitted here solely under the auspices of the Federal Guest Worker Program!! We need to scrap this program because someone committed a crime!!!"

It's absurd. Almost as if this anecdotal immigrant crime watching in actuality has a.........dare I say it.........racial basis.

"Don't think for one second this is an isolated event. We have much more of their gangs spread throughout the city, and we haven't seen anything yet . The show is about to start closer to the elections. And some of these gangs are extremely dangerous.
A few months ago the NYPD sent an army into the city to break up some of these gangs and they did a good job , but all they can do is make arrests, it's up to the district attorneys and federal government to do the rest.
Other organized crimes and still happening involved migrants gangs and crews are still happening , but it's being kept out of the news."

    ^^ cool picture

Yes, yes - illegal immigrants are all gang members. They're rapists. They're not like you and me*. We should all despise them.

*That's why approximately 9 million are employed in America.

Boston mayor silent on sanctuary city policies amid migrant crime reports

Reports of crimes committed by migrants and a lack of cooperation with federal authorities have sparked worries among residents and frustration within local Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

According to a report from Fox News’ Bill Melugin last week, ICE officers in Boston have been working hard to remove dangerous criminals but have had their efforts stymied by local laws. The most recent example saw an elite group of Boston-based ICE officers make five arrests that included four alleged child rapists and a member of MS-13, a group of potential dangerous criminals the officers say were allowed on the streets because of local sanctuary policies that denied the agency’s detainer requests.
