I thought Foreman was the greatest before he ever turned pro......Don't know how many of you are old enough to remember but the 68 Olympics was the Olympics that were marred by many black athletes raising their fist on the medal platform with the black power symbol in a political move. Foreman was the one who held up a little American flag in a show of unity and love of country over anything else. I was a huge Foreman fan from that day on.

All due respect to Foreman, in Tyson’s prime, only Tyson could beat Tyson. And, no, beating Tyson with Little Mac on the original NES does not count.
Tyson was 23 when he lost to Douglas. Now you're going to argue that it was Tyson who beat Tyson that day and not Douglas, but since we don't measure boxing results by that metric ever, it makes little sense to do it here. With this in mind, Foreman took prime Holyfield (28 y.o.) the distance that same year. But more, Foreman's style would have caused Mike all sorts of problems. Foreman's jab was nasty and his downward trajectory towards the smaller Tyson would have made it nearly impossible for Mike to get inside on Foreman. Also, Foreman was known for his granite chin, especially in his comeback effort around that time. Therefore, he likely withstands the initial Tyson onslaught and frustrates Tyson with his jab. Foreman wins by KO in 8 rounds if they fought in 1990. P.S. Tyson's camp avoided this fight like the plague at the time.
You can tell a lot about people who still hold a grudge about black people daring to hold their fists high 60 years ago….

Had nothing to do with racism. What pissed people off was in 1968 the Olympics were watched by a lot of people. We basically had 3 TV networks so you pretty much had 3 choices what to watch. People were very proud of their country and when the US was quite proud of their athletes some of the athletes wanted to make it about other than patriotism. But we understand, you just have no sense of patriotism and are standing right there with them fist raised.
Since when is sports entirely about “patriotism”? What do you make of athletes who point at their sky daddy after big plays and wear cross makeup on their faces? Let me guess, different standard….
Obviously you weren't around when the Olympics were all about pride in your country. Two of the proudest moments of my life were George Foreman's waving the flag and the 1980 Hocky miracle on ice.
1968 was before my time, but the Olympics were never entirely about patriotism, and only patriotism... there is a long list of political statements and protests at the Olympics before 1968... it's just telling that this is only one you care about. Timeline: Politics and Protest at the Olympics
