Just because I can't prove it wrong doesn't mean I can't infer it's wrong based on the motives of the people who created it.

You think Jesus or St. Peter had malicious or dishonest motives when they started the Catholic Church?

Not to turn this into a holy war here, but I think it's clear some denominations of Christianity began on improper motives. For example, England seceded from the Catholic Church essentially because the Pope wouldn't grant an annulment for King Henry VIII. I don't think "not being allowed to leave your wife because she's no longer convenient" is a good reason for starting a new religion.

 

The creators of Pastafarianism don't believe it's real. You don't believe it's real. Though we cannot rule it out, any accuracy on the part of Pastafarianism would only be coincidental because it's just people talking out of their ass as a basis to mock religion.

That is in no way comparable to Christianity, Judaism, or Islam.

 

I think that Catholics claim Jesus founded the Catholic Church. The motive for Christianity, like many religions, is power, and I think that's a malicious motive.
