Rick Scott is one of the largest thieves in American history. Should fit right in

House of funny funny that many on here are now celebrating Rick Scott when he's probably been the most disliked Republican in Florida by his own voters

Yes, it’s expected Musk and his holdings will get federal intervention to help him - quid pro quo - for his extensive and ongoing support of Trump. Not to mention he might actually be part of the admin. investors also think so. TSLA rose 40% after the election vs +5% for S&P

I stated a fact; Rick Scott was in charge of the largest healthcare fraud in history. How is someone like that acceptable to anyone? There are plenty of other Republicans to choose from that haven’t engaged in fraud and especially at that scale.

He won't work across the isle. Thune will. But, sadly, many may not want the majority leader working across the isle. Personally, I think that's a huge mistake. It bespeaks a certain arrogance, an attitude of "my way is the only way".

No, just the company he ran at the time of the fraud. HCA/Columbia, the company he ran, was found guilty of 14 felonies.

Not what he said. He said Ric Scott was in charge of the largest (at that time) healthcare fraud. As he was CEO of the guilty company that is a factual statement. And his company kept the fraud going even after a warning. His deposition full of “I don’t recall” and taking the fifth 75 times and not being able to look the questioner in the eye is educational.

I've seen absolutely no indication of "hate" in this thread. Just lively debate ...... and, in one case, snarkiness.

the problem with Pubs reaching across the isle is the only way Democrats in the Senate to ever compromise is for pubs to move their way. I am ready for a Pub who will not capitulate to the dems

How many times did Hillary say I don't remember and take the 5th(It is a Constitutional right). The Company agreed to plead guilty and paid over $800 million in fines in 2003, but Rick Scott was not found guilty. It seems to me if he had been guilty in anyway he would have not been able to be elected Governor or to the US Senate, and dems in those elections would have been screaming at the top of their lungs about it, so it seems to be much ado about nothing. I do not expect Scott to win the vote(it is done secret ballot) but am not a fan of either of the other guys who are all to ready to compromise by moving the dems way. I thought McConnel was a crook and was glad to see him retire.

They did scream at the top of their lungs. Maga doesn’t care he was crooked.
Do a deep dive into that case - outside of fringe-right sites, check with individuals that work in the biz (that aren’t also political), he’s crooked.

No guarantees he will be. Secret ballot, so they can vote how they please. Even though anyone they choose is going to be pro-Trump, sticking it to scumbag Scott would be nice. Plus, as I hear it, everyone in the Senate - including most Rs - hate him. Why am I not surprised?

Admittedly I’m not familiar how the 3 candidates would perform. But I hope the senate doesn’t base their decision on X polls and external maga mob influence. That’s a bad precedent to gov a country.
