Single biggest problem is the cosy relationship between money and politics. Those co-opting this on the Right are definitely not going to be pointing in that direction.
The counter point is the studies that show how much time a politician spends fund raising for reelection, instead of actually being productive. A LOT.
great call. Both gingers too. Love me some Tyler Childers. Saw him once right before he blew up back in 2019 or so and he was amazing.
Yeah, and while I have solutions for that, they're not constitutional under the current jurisprudence, even assuming folks supported them. We have term limits here in Florida, and it hasn't made our legislature better. It's shocking how little most of them know about the legislation they sponsor/propose. I'm talking them being unable to answer simple questions about what's in the bill. Why? Because they didn't write it. Some advocacy group or lobbyist wrote and gave it to them or the party.
I think it was Justin Amash a few years ago that held up like 175 pages of some bill he was given the night before a vote.
Rules for newbies: If the Right seems to like it - you have to hate it. And, vice-versa. Now, play nice.
That he does. So too are the guys in my union shop who can’t shut the hell up about this dumb song. And yet there’s only one political party in this country that has consistently and flagrantly attacked unions for decades, and it’s the one they keep voting for. iMO, this guy needs to quit whining and pull himself up by his bootstraps.
Never understood anyone who was anti-union, unless you owned a business. I can understand being against shitty unions, or bad union leadership, but just blanket anti-union is pretty bizarre to me.

I didn't know this was a music review page. I guess since Fox News decided this was a more important story than Trump's legal trouble, we had to have a thread on it here. Who cares.
I only heard about the song today. I’m pretty much floored by it. I’m not a big fan of country but his combination of voice guitar and lyrics is outstanding. You can tear apart aspects of lyrics but it truly captures the feeling that many people feel, whether you agree with it or not. That’s the thing about art - does it capture something emotionally that you just don’t get rationally. There are tons of more left leaning songs that I may not agree with the implied politics but nonetheless appreciate the feeling and sentiment that is being expressed.
Signed in on my iPad at home and didn’t even realize it was a different. Same person, just has a 1 at the end, not sure how that happen.
