We issued travel bans too and many on your side called Trump racist and xenophobic for doing it. Japan being on an island has nothing to do with it. Once the virus was there, it was there. Risk associated with Covid due to age are not simply due to a number. They're due to significantly higher rate of pre-existing conditions in the older age groups. If Nigeria's average life expectancy is 53, without looking, I can tell you that's due to malnutrition and pre-existing conditions which run rampant throughout that country. Yet, they had a much lower mortality rate from Covid than did the US. If you think that makes sense because of a stat that is relative, I'm guessing you don't do well on IQ tests.

*yawns* there was no protection from the test.

Close borders. Stay home. Wear multiple masks. Vaccinate … the test would still find you.

Good move not digging that hole deeper for yourself. But I'll keep playing along in hopes you'll dig some more. Given that Nigeria's Covid death rate per million was less than half that of Japan's and given the inherent disadvantages Nigeria had as a non-island nation, receiving the vaccines later than the West, more prevalent pre-existing conditions among the population, would you perhaps at least go as far to say the United States should not have forced vaccination for individuals under the age of 53? Costing some honest, hard working Americans their livelihood? (I'll give you the benefit of hindsight)

I think RFK is more than a bit of a conspiracy theorist, and I particularly dislike the Kennedy Family more than most people.

But to be honest, I am so concerned with the direction of this country as far as the weaponization of institutions and the divisiveness, if I had a button that would decide the election today, but RFK would win, I would take that deal in a heartbeat.

He doesn't have to be good, he just needs to be boring and effectively take leadership steps to bring people together. Not bring people together "except MAGA Republicans." He is the ONLY candidate that I think can do that. I think some Republicans may try, but the second they get slapped by the media over some BS (which will happen) Democrats will sneer at them and they will go on the defensive by going on the offensive. Like Trump, the typical rules of politics don't seem to apply to Kennedy and that's a good thing.

Yeah, it's really hard to argue against what he says in that clip. One could bash his position on certain vaccines all they want, but what he says in that clip is the absolute truth.

    More RFK Jr lies

Jake Tapper blasts Robert Kennedy's 'wild and false' story about his vaccine report in rare CNN column | Fox News

RFK Jr on a podcast with Jordon Petersen created a bunch bizarre lies surrounding a conversation with Jake Talper decades ago, not unlike what he did with Dr Paul Offitt.

He then explained how the candidate’s retelling differed greatly from Tapper’s assessment of what happened.

"In Kennedy’s bizarre retelling a few days ago… I worked with him ‘for three weeks doing this incredible documentary’ (no and no) about his Rolling Stone story – please note he makes zero mention of the article having since been retracted and disappeared," Tapper wrote.

Tapper also called out the candidate for claiming Tapper told him on the phone, "All my career, I have never had a piece killed by corporate and I’m so mad." Tapper wrote, "I hadn’t. I had been at ABC News for two years. I had had plenty of pieces killed. Not once did ‘corporate’ play a role in killing any of them."

Tapper then declared, "RFK Jr. has been misrepresenting the content of this call for years. (I told him we were holding the story for a day.) Now in his retelling, a two-minute piece was an ‘incredible documentary,’ a few days of work was three weeks, one remote interview was me working intensely with him, and a piece that got delayed one day so we could interview some actual experts is a piece that got killed."

None of this is new. If you knew anything about RFK Jr, you already knew he was a guy who hitches his wagon to the likes of Ralph Nader. His work on the Hudson River was extremely impressive. He's a hardcore environmentalist and wears it on his sleeves. I actually disagree with RFK Jr. about the manmade climate change agenda, but yeah, he's done some incredible work on the environment in a hands on, meaningful way. He is who he is, which is actually refreshing.

Really? Did he lie about having a full academic scholarship to go to law school? Did he lie about how many college degrees he had? His law school rank? Did he plagiarize a bunch of speeches? Did he lie about visiting his dying mother on an Amtrak?

What does any of that have to do with him making up lies about vaccines?

That was good. I heard about what Tapper said, too.

If Kennedy doesn’t believe what he’s saying and is even lying about his conversations with people, what’s his motive? He is already rich and famous and he could presumably make even more money in various ways. Heck, he could have even developed a serious political career but he’s alienated many in his family for starters.

My initial gut based upon his body language has been that he at least believes what he’s saying. But these accounts about him lying about other stuff has me second-guessing that for sure.

He clearly takes certain accounts cherry picks facts in order to construct a completely different conclusion. That is willful distortion.

Also, some of this stuff can be easily refuted yet still sticks with assertions that are patently false.
