So be it. If these Democrats, Republicans, Independents, etc. have violated the law, let’s enforce the laws on the books and hold them all accountable.

hmm wonder how that will fall when all the state legislatures start writing exceptions to the law and granting immunity?

I literally laughed out loud at that one. That was hilariously funny on multiple levels.

Perfect example of a false equivalency. Thanks for bringing it up. If Trump had responded to requests to return documents as Biden and Pence have, Trump would not be facing charges. It's really simple but you can't or won't see it because you are in the MAGA cult.

Theres a lot wrong with Trumps conviction apart from the fact that the charges were politically motivated.

It took astounding legal gymnastics to surpass statute of limitations issues, turn misdemeanors into a felonies, and there’s the fact that I don’t think beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump made these payments for campaign rather than reputation purposes.

Cooperating with law enforcement is not an element of the crime.

FACT: Biden broke the law and mishandled classified documents but was not prosecuted for it.

    So you have nothing.

Biden didn't get charged because they couldn't prove he knowingly took and withheld the documents. They never would have gotten a conviction. Be a little objective when comparing that to Trump's situation where he knowingly took the documents, refused to return them, and then moved them to hide them from the FBI.

Hunter's trial starts this week by the way. Would love to see some evidence that Joe intervened in the plea deal if you have it. Otherwise I haven't seen any evidence that he's interfered nor has he simply pardoned Hunter to make it go away.

Of course it is. Trump is charged with obstruction of justice and making false statements in addition to mishandling classified documents. If he had turned everything over when initially asked, as Biden and Pence did, he would not be facing charges for any of it.

Legal gymnastics like reading the law and applying it. This is a law long on the books in New York that is often prosecuted. He falsified business records with the intent of covering up unlawful activity.

Then I am sure that you can provide the cooperative civilian that has ever been charged with that crime.

    No, I have something.

And they couldn't prove Trump's intent regarding the Stormy Daniels payouts, as to whether they were campaign expenditures or personal expenditures. That didn't stop this jury.

As far as whether they "would never get a conviction." I think a different DOJ and some DAs office may disagree with you.;)

I never said Joe intervened in the plea deal. I said the DOJ acted in a manner that would protect Hunter Biden. But the deal was thrown out.

Don't want to be too obvious in pardoning Hunter now do we.

Some of the more concerning reactions from the right.

Some personal security suggestions. Caution: This list is NOT exhaustive.:

    1. Remove any stickers from your car that say "Biden" or "Harris", makes reference to any environmental cause/concern, touts your child's achievement as an honor student, is symbolic for peace, rainbows or unicorns or refers to libraries/books/reading.

    2. Replace with stickers depicting Trump, the NRA, "Cricket Had it Coming," any beer with the exception of Bud Light, removing your firearm from your cold dead fingers or touting your wife's/girlfriend's recognition as "Stripper of the Month" at your local adult entertainment club.

    3. If you have an EV, park it in your garage.

    4. If you have a hybrid, remove all hybrid badging.

    5. Do not slow down for small animals crossing the street.

    6. Do not use your turn signals when turning or changing lanes.

    7. Purchase and conspicuously display a set of Truck Nutz on all of your vehicles. I would suggest red or red chrome.
    TRUCK NUTS

    8. Replace you university/environmental cause specialty tag with a regular plate. Put renewal stickers in each corner.

    9. Pretend there's a new law that allows five cars/trucks to turn left after the turn arrow changes to red.

Follow these suggestions and, with a little luck, you should slip under the RADAR.

There are literally hundreds of classified doc leaks every year. The DOJ has a long history of either not charging or only pressing minor charges when no damage was done, and the person fully cooperates with returning all docs. Both Pence, a R, and Biden, a D fit this. No charges filed is consistent with DOJ precedent.

With Trump, we don't know damage done. But we do know he didn't cooperate. In fact, he lied on an affidavit and moved boxes around to avoid having to return them. Had Trump fully cooperated when first requested to return all materials, unlikely charges would've been filed. And few, if any, would have complained.

In NY, Bragg has charged something like 34 others with similar falsification of records crimes, totaling over 160 felonies, I believe. Why should Trump be treated different? He shouldn't. The law should treat all equally under the law.

    I call BS.

And "cooperating with law enforcement" is not an element to mishandling classified documents. It's debatable if it's even necessarily obstruction of justice. As Dershowitz has pointed out, Trump has a right to play hard ball with the DOJ.

The point is Biden could have been charged, they chose not to. Hunter Biden got a sweetheart deal that would've gone through if a judge didn't throw it out.

Again, just don't come crying to me when the power pendulum swings because I won't want to hear it.

I guess it was just a coincidence that after stringing along Stormy until after the election (at which point they wouldn't pay her per testimony) and then suddenly the day after the access Hollywood tape drops, they had a change of heart completely unrelated to the campaign?

You're clearly an intelligent person, you're just heading down the same path of other intelligent people like Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham leaving you stuck trying to defend the indefensible. If Trump had a (D) next to his name, would you really be ok with everything from hiding the Stormy payoff, to the egregious classified documents theft, to Jan 6th and the fake electors scheme? Would you be on here defending Biden or some other Dems right to do all of that?

Ok, when Dems get convicted of crimes by juries in courts of law, I promise I won't come crying to you as you are to us. We can start with the Menendez trial that is currently underway.

All separate issues which I have addressed separately.

    1) Stormy payoff. Not a good thing, but should really be a political issue, not a criminal one. And frankly, that doesn’t really move the needle much with me. I feel the same about Bill Clinton.
    2) Classified Documents. Again, not a good thing, but wildly common. Did Trump not help himself in how he acted? Absolutely. But at the end of the day, that is a case of the current Administration charging their political opponent essentially for something the sitting President himself did. For that reason, Trump shouldn’t have been charged.
    3) January 6th can really be separated into two issues:
    A) Storming the Capitol: terrible thing. Everyone who broke the law should be arrested and tried fairly in a court of law. Was it the worst attack against Democracy ever? No. Was it comparable to 9/11 or Pearl Harbor? Not even close. But people were rightfully arrested for storming the Capitol. Was Trump directly responsible for that and should he face legal consequences for that? I think the answer to both of those questions is “no.”
    B) The Elector Scheme. This is by far the worst blemish on Trump’s record to me and there is no defending this morally or on principle. I simply believe our systems are strong enough to overcome that sort of BS. But we would all be better off if that never happened and if the durability of our system wasn’t tested that day. Now, did Trump commit a crime here? Again, questionable. But this is absolutely a fair political knock on Trump, and a pretty ugly one at that.

My two daily drivers are hybrids with Gator tags, I might as well put a lighted "Democrat" sign on my roof. On a serious note, while I don't feel I'm in danger, I will be more vigilant, especially looking out for trucks with Trump flags mounted to the beds and I will keep higher caliber pistols than normal with me...swapping out from .380 to .40 caliber.
