lol. No, I got into this thread to point out your incorrect summary of the attorney client privilege. I couldn’t care less about the Steele Dossier or any particular piece of opposition research. I’ve also said multiple times that I don’t know for sure what the purpose of the research was, and therefore don’t know for sure whether the privilege would apply. I just think you’re misapplying the privilege in stating that we can know it was not privileged because it is opposition research. But carry on your crusade, message board lawyer.
Well, in the scenario I mentioned, they’d have good reason to. They’re laughing now, they’ll be crying when the power pendulum swings.
The privilege wouldn’t apply if it was merely opposition research for a political opponent because that’s not in furtherance of legal advice/aid/representation, etc. You’re inventing facts so that you can play dumb. Just admit you were wrong and stop acting like a clown.
Yes, those of us who value democracy and freedom in the US and throughout the world will be crying if the power pendulum swings.
So if Hillary would have been tried and convicted would you have been as equally outraged at her unjust conviction? I can’t speak to the specifics of the Hillary situation but one factor in pressing charges is the probability of actual conviction. John Edwards had somewhat similar circumstances but jury acquitted. In the case of Trump it was pretty clear cut and overwhelming evidence. So at least you agree that Trump did illegal things, but think he should get off due to other legal factors (statute of limitations, uncommon conviction) and what about Hillary.
Yes, nothing says "valuing democracy and freedom" like incarcerating the frontrunner for President on Frankenstein charges. Spare me.
The Cons must have filed all the hard evidence of the "weaponization" of the judicial system by the DOJ, WH and FBI in that same folder with all that hard evidence proving the election was stolen. If only they hadn't misplaced it. Perhaps that folder also contains all the details of the Biden crime family that will result in immediate impeachment. Or perhaps they're simply full of.... Trump.
Well you've successfully demonstrated that Trump did commit an underlying FEC crime. The difference between the two is that Trump further obfuscated his payments through his personal business (which brought it into scope for the Mamhattan DA) while also interfering in the election by concealing the information from the public. Hillary didn't use the Steele Dossier and it only became public in Jan 2017 after Trump was elected..
It was the campaign and DNC that paid the civil penalties but it's reasonable to assume that it would have been done with Hillary's knowledge and approval.
Last I checked, running for President doesn't immunize you from criminal consequences. If you want for powerful politicians to be above the law, that is your prerogative. I recommend moving to a place with a monarch or a dictator.
I don't think Hillary would ever be on trial for paying hush money. The Clintons are better at dealing with these things than Trump is.
And that is the giant point you missed I was alluding to above. The element of fraud was missing in Hillary's situation, it was there in abundance in Trump's. You should consider going to bed earl, today might be a better day for you.
