Again rich irony about superficiality considering our history.

But DEI doesn’t have preferred races or genders, its goal is to include traditionally excluded races and genders.

White people are part of diversity, so you’re still good O&B.

Maybe I just don’t understand it then.
If dei doesn’t have preferred races or genders, who is getting left out?
And no, I don’t trust the same libbies who do the research to tell me that they should create more govt jobs to police this fictional idea.

Do I have to find more? I think there must be a limit of what amount of material I can post. Google is your friend. It's just false to say we are an inclusive country when we were separating children from their parents, flying immigrants to other states with the promise of jobs and housing, and shooting up synagogues. It'll never go away.

Naw man, we just suck at everything. :emoji_grinning: DEI is nothing more than a lefty solution in search of a problem, as per usual.

We all have a preconception about the subject. We could go back and forth posting crap that supports our stance.
I do not see a country on crutches. I see most people getting along, working together from many different backgrounds and ethnicities.
Gay people are very proud and are walking the streets hand in hand in no danger.
Black people are leaders in my community and apart of every team I’ve ever worked on.
Last night I was at a nice restaurant and as predicted, no one was butthurt over said inclusion issues.
I even got two fist bumps from black guys for my dance moves.
America is a great place with very minor problems. Some libbies will make you believe it is 1962 which is sad.

No, it's not 1962, but you and I don't live in the same world as people of color, or LGBTQ or even Jewish. I've seen undercover stories of investigations into housing discrimination where black people pay higher interest rates, or are told an apartment was rented, when it wasn't. Or even white people were made up to look black and have a camera on them. They were treated much different than when they didn't have on the makeup. This still exists.

Glad you got moves, I sure don't!

You can find victims all day long and anywhere. That doesn’t prove there is a nationwide issue that needs more govt intervention.

Over 300 million people. The vast majority get along with each other just fine. In ANY group this size there will be outliers. In ANY group this size there will be deviants. Is the hope to eradicate all racism? All exclusion? Because it will never happen. Ever.
There will always be isolated incidents. There will always be whites that treat blacks poorly.
There will always be blacks that treat whites poorly
There will always be those who hate the jews(sometimes in congress)
There will always be Jews that hate Palestinians.
There will always ALWAYS be hate, racism, exclusion in minute quantities.

Thus, there will always be people who believe the govt can solve our problems.

My wife was recently in a business/professional setting with a handful of folks of which she was the only white person there. Her friend said "Yeah, J. is as white as white can be....but we're trying to get her into the sisterhood."

Her friend, to her credit, called and apologized; and, my wife shook it off and they are good. And, that's as it should be - two adults dealing with their relationship and working it out.

Switch the scenario: "Yeah, J. here is as black as black can be...but we're trying to whiten him up a bit" That gets you fired. People do and say stupid stuff all the time. DEI is just a new moral code that will make a lot of lawyers a lot of money and likely not any benefit to our social condition.

you don’t, because you think it’s a zero sum game, and will exclude whatever people you identify with.

DEI studies show it’s effectively good for business.

Why DEI is Important: Nine Benefits of Strong DEI in the Workplace

Research has found that diverse teams are more likely to outperform their less diverse counterparts.

Gartner found that 75% of companies with “frontline decision-making teams reflecting a diverse and inclusive culture” exceed their financial targets. They also found that “gender-diverse and inclusive teams outperformed gender-homogeneous, less inclusive teams by 50%, on average.”

You hope for this to be a good outcome but you cannot guarantee anything. And that you have to convince millions of people to look into the past to elevate race today is a fools errand.

Wow, Rie Parker - whose business experience is primarily 3 years as an "Account Receivables Specialist" says DEI is good and beneficial. Then she cites a piece from Gartner - who offers consulting services for C-suites - that gives two separate and vague descriptors on how DEI is presumably beneficial. I'm sold!!!

Your last paragraph, from Ms. Parker's opinion piece, says 75% of companies....exceed their financial targets. Okay, and? There is no context, there is no comparison, it just states that's what they "found." Eureka! And, what is a gender diverse and inclusive team? It could be that BIG Tech outsources a lot of stuff to India and therefore they are more diverse and since they count their revenue in the Billions they "outperform" smaller more homogenous groups.

Summary - this is an Op Ed and you're welcome to cite it but it literally says and proves nothing. When I managed sales people I tried to have a 60/40 balance of women/men or men/women. 90/10 one way and it was difficult to control meetings. 10/90 they other way and the dynamism within the group was gone. I'm not against any of these things - I'm against someone shoving their DEI Religion down my throat. You want a CPA who couldn't cut Cost Accounting handling your books, just because they are or claim to be __________ ? Feel free, but I would prefer someone who has shown they perform - be they any color, race, creed or even vegan.
