I know you were making another point, but it's pretty dumb to file impeachment for something she wasn't charged with.
Kamala Harris Wasn't the ‘Border Czar.’ Here’s What She Did

In fact, Harris was never put in charge of the border or immigration policy. Nor was she involved in overseeing law-enforcement efforts or guiding the federal response to the crisis. Her mandate was much narrower: to focus on examining and improving the underlying conditions in the Northern Triangle of Central America—El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras—which has been racked by decades of poverty, war, chronic violence, and political instability. The strategy relied on allocating billions for economic programs and stimulating private-sector investment in the region in hopes that these programs would ultimately lead fewer migrants to make the dangerous journey north.

It was the first high-profile assignment in Harris' tenure as Vice President, and it was an especially thankless one. At best, addressing the “push factors” that spur migration would lead to incremental improvements and take a generation to yield results. At worst, it would make Harris the face of the border crisis, one of the Biden administration's biggest political vulnerabilities. "To the extent that this was a useful assignment, she did reasonably well in getting the private sector to invest in Central America," says Muzaffar Chishti, a senior fellow at the nonpartisan Migration Policy Institute. "But it was an assignment that could not produce results anytime soon."

The so-called "root causes strategy" focused on improving economic and security conditions by creating jobs, combating corruption, improving human and labor rights, and reducing violence. Harris allocated funds for humanitarian relief from natural disasters, and directed more than 10 million COVID-19 vaccines to the Northern Triangle countries. She held bilateral meetings with the region's leaders, as well as meetings with NGOs, business executives and human rights advocates. She worked with the U.S. Justice Department to launch an Anti-Corruption task force focused on prosecuting corruption cases with ties to the region, as well as Anti-Migrant Smuggling task forces in Mexico and Guatemala.

Most importantly, Harris spearheaded a public-private partnership that, as of March 2024, had secured commitments from major U.S. and multi-national companies to invest more than $5 billion in the region. The Vice President "put her name on the line with very serious senior CEOs and kind of created a brand appeal for Central America that didn't exist," says Ricardo Zúniga, who until recently served as the U.S. special envoy to Central America.

So freaking sad... You will rationalize that foreign war with your nonsensical attempt to analogize WWII with the conflict in the Ukraine... that Biden/Harris administration started?

Glad you’re enjoying the media gaslighting.

Here’s what the AP, on March 24, 2021, said:

“President Joe Biden has tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the White House effort to tackle the migration challenge at the U.S. southern border and work with Central American nations to address root causes of the problem.”

NBC’s headline on that same date was:

“Biden tasks Harris with ‘stemming the migration’ on southern border: The vice president is expected to focus on both curbing the current flow of migrants and coordinating with countries in the region to address the root causes of migration.”

While there are nutcakes on both side of the political spectrum, the number of far right Trumpers seems to exceed the number of lefties by a significant margin.

    &

Brings this little exchange beck to mind:

    In June 2016, President Obama
, in a town hall in Elkhart, Indiana, asserted that American manufacturing was merely a thing of the past.

When asked by an audience member why blue-collar jobs continue to disappear, the 44th President admitted that good-paying jobs in America were moving overseas under his watch. Mr. Obama asserted that “some of those jobs of the past are just not going to come back.”

“When somebody says . . . that he’s going to bring all these jobs back, well, how exactly are you going to do that? What are you going to do?,” Mr. Obama asked. “There’s no answer to it. . . . What magic wand do you have?

Then Trump got elected...and this happened:

“President Trump would need a magic wand to get to 4% GDP,” stated President Obama. I guess I have a magic wand, 4.2%, and we will do MUCH better than this! We have just begun.

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 10, 2018

Trump's Policy "Magic Wand" Boosts Manufacturing Jobs 399% In First 26 Months Over Obama's Last 26

Trump's Policy "Magic Wand" Boosts Manufacturing Jobs 399% In First 26 Months Over Obama's Last 26

Simply put: Turns out a magic wand wasn’t needed to change the trajectory of America’s economy.

Was that intentional of y'all, or forgetful? :p:D:p

Don't know if you're being facetious or serious according to data the rate of increase in manufacturing jobs was approximately the same under Trump as it was under Obama over the entire terms of both presidents although the rate was flat during Obama's last year. Kind of cherry picking and the rate under Trump was also flat before it tanked (not his fault) as the result of the pandemic.

It's shocking that after appx 250 years of America having an "open border", including 4 years under the patriotic avenger Trump,...... Harris didn't totally correct in 4 years as Vice President.

Apparently you are enjoying media gaslighting.

‘Border czar’? GOP talking point distorts VP Harrris’ role
    • In March 2021, President Joe Biden tasked Vice President Kamala Harris with working alongside officials in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras to address the issues driving people to leave those countries and come to the United States.
    • The Biden-Harris administration said it would focus on five key issues: economic insecurity, corruption, human rights, criminal gang violence and gender-based violence.
    • Border security and management is the Homeland Security secretary’s responsibility.

Sorry that I trust what the very same news outlets were saying in 2021 (when Kamala Harris was not running for President) over their 2024 insistence of “pay no mind to what we said back then in 2021 when we told you she was getting put in charge of the border crisis, where could you have possibly gotten the idea that she was supposed to be addressing the border crisis?”

And to add to this, let's not forget that by Obama's last year the economy was not recovering from a sub-prime loan crises and not suffering from some Chinese virus, so that makes Trump's economic GDP numbers GROWTH all that more impressive.

Read the bill, read the bill, read the bill . . . says the guy who never read the bill. :)

You're too busy gas-lighting everyone with your made up BS that Harris was somehow the border "Czar". Proven to be nothing but BS.

How much weight should we give to the official statements made at the time versus various media reports? Perhaps her role changed over time, but these two official statements from 2021 seem consistent with her being asked to lead efforts to address the conditions which result in migrants fleeing their home countries - as opposed to being tasked with securing the border itself or deciding how illegal crossers (to be distinguished from those seeking asylum) should be handled.

Remarks by President Biden and Vice President Harris in a Meeting on Immigration | The White House

[President Biden]: . . . In addition to that, there’s about five other major things she’s handling, but I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she’s the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border.

And, you know, back when I was Vice President, I got a similar assignment, but one of the things we did was we made sure that we got a bipartisan agreement with Democrats and Republicans to provide over $700 million to the countries in the Northern Triangle to determine the best way to keep people from coming is keep them from wanting to leave.

And the reason why so many people were leaving, we learned, was that not only gang violence and trafficking and cartels, but natural disasters, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes. And so it’s not like someone sits around a hand-hewnen [sic] — hand-hewn table somewhere in Guatemala and says, “I’ve got a great idea: Let’s sell everything we have, give the money to a coyote, have him take our kids or us to the border of America, take us across, leave us in the desert. We don’t speak the language. Won’t that be fun?”

One of the ways we learned is that if you deal with the problems in country, it benefits everyone. It benefits us, it benefits the people, and it grows the economies there.

Remarks by Vice President Harris, Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas, Chairman Durbin, and Representative Escobar in Press Gaggle | The White House

[Vice President Harris]: . . . We have a day planned that will be about, as much as anything, addressing the effects of what I’ve already been addressing, which are the root causes of migration, predominantly out of Central America.

    ***

And so, we are here today to address and to talk about what has brought people to the U.S. border, and, again, to continue to address the root causes which caused people to leave and often flee their home country.

    ****

[Secretary Mayorkas]: Thank you very much. To build on Madam Vice President’s comments: As everyone knows, migration involves a continuum. The Vice President is leading our nation’s efforts to address the root causes — that fundamental question of why people leave their homes.

And it is my responsibility as the Secretary of Homeland Security to address the security and management of our border.

She did such a bang up job that they are now trying to say she wasn't in charge. Fact is the Biden Admin did a worse job than any administration in securing our border. Don't worry, I'm sure this is just "misinformation" LOL.
