It's not going on everywhere. There are plenty of fine schools, public and private in California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Virginia. Most of the best colleges and universities in the US are in those states.
And where do they go from Liberty? Don't see Fortune 500 corporations camping out there to find the best and the brightest though it would be a great place for recruiting people with diminished critical thinking skills.

Ya got me self gratification is one of my top priorities (I’m an evolved person and I have several - like marginalizing twisted human beings). I really don’t value some peoples lives whatsoever. Who’s we and who’s sock drawer do you belong to?
Almost by definition, religious schools and universities don't teach critical thinking skills. It's not safe to risk doubts about the indoctrination. (To be fair, we're all indoctrinated to one degree or another, don't you think?)
I know. I was not debating his post. I was only saying how long it had been since GE was in fact, a great company. Their demise was started by Welch. The world just didn’t figure it out until 08-09.
And Welch was heralded as a genius. A genius who took a solid industrial and bankrupted it in financial investments. He did have some amazing quarters though.
Agree for the most part but I don’t believe Jesuit schools require their students to be adherents to their faith. Plenty of non-Catholics and even non-Christians attending those universities. So many great Jesuit schools.
When something looks too good to be true, it usually isn’t. That was GE up until 2008. Welch was undeserving of much of his image and reputation. It’s really not all that hard to make your company look great if your willing to risk it’s future to do so.
One of the best schools in the Atlanta area was/is Marist. It was a Jesuit school but I knew more Jewish parents that sent their kids there than catholic.
There are great Jesuit high schools in most major cities, huge blessing for urban public school systems. Speaking of Jewish students, the tuition discount at Jesuit universities for graduates of Jesuit high schools applied to all students, regardless of faith. Jewish friend of ours went from SLU Prep in St. Louis to Loyola Chicago at a deep discount. (Brad Beal’s mom was his P.E. Teacher at SLU.)
Dan, have to disagree with you about Marist. It is not a Jesuit school. "Marist School is an independent, Catholic, private, nonprofit, college preparatory, coeducational day school enrolling students in grades 7-12. The school is owned and operated by the Society of Mary, more commonly known as the Marists, a religious congregation of priests and brothers founded in France in 1836." When we moved to Atlanta from Connecticut in the 1980's Marist was rated as one of the top 3 private schools in Atlanta along with Westminster and Lovett. We applied our 3 children to all three achools and the 2 younger children also to Holy Innocents, a newly established Episocopal school. The older 2 elected to attend Westminster and the youngest was enrolled in a smaller school. Never, ever regretted the decision and financial investment in our children's future.
