Wow, Mullen had no idea how to recruit. Can you imagine how he would've handled the NIL Era recruiting.

And I'm saying that he would have been just another California recruit who wouldn't have worked out.
IMO 95%+ chance he would have transferred when Trask started playing as well as he did.
    But it's all theoretical.

    That's good research.
I do remember a picture of Mullen and Corral together in California.
So I know Mullen went out there- but I have no idea what was said, or even what date it was.
I know it was prior to the decommitment.
So Mullen must have wanted him on some level, otherwise he wouldn't have flown to CA during prime recruiting season.

i think that Corral would have been #2 behind Franks had he came and Trask would of been regulated to the bench. The plan always was that Franks was gonna go pro after 2019 had he not gotten hurt and had a season on par or better than his 2018 year and Emory takes over in 2020 but here we are lol

Rashada's father is the problem! He is not willing to wait until (if) the pro's come calling. This kid will most likely not fare well in the future because of daddy.

There are exceptions to everything, but it does seem the failure rate for west coast players who come east is high.

They wouldn't pick up the phone for Trevor Etienne, either. Seemed to be a recurring issue with that staff.

I was just about to say the same thing. Had coral been here Trask May never Have gotten his time to shine. Matt came in a much more polished passer then Emory Jones did. I think had Franks gotten hurt with corral as his backup Mullen would have thrown coral in there In the emergency backup role

I knew we were in trouble when they were ecstatic about a Thibodeaux visit. They were satisfied just with making his top 5.

"Meanwhile, the questions at quarterback have grown. With Anthony Richardson gone to the NFL draft, the Gators are now left with Jack Miller -- who did not play well in the 30-3 loss to Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl -- Wisconsin transfer Graham Mertz and Max Brown, who just finished his freshman season. At this point, all the elite high school talent is spoken for, so perhaps Napier will have to dip again into the transfer portal to fill out the quarterback room. But no matter what he does, questions about what could have been with Rashada will continue to linger." -- Andrea Adelson

This Rashada talk needs to go away. He’s not coming, we all can only guess as to the details. Our focus should be on who wants to be a Gator, and who wins the QB position this spring.

No coach in the state of Florida is legally allowed to be involved with the NIL money deals. But we know that some are very much involved.

There is no way that any kid out of high school is worth 13 million dollars. I still don't believe that number is correct. And if it is then whomever made that NIL deal needs to be let go. I'm almost sure that someone with a law degree was looking for a huge payday.

Now... he's gone and I am over it.

    NEXT!

I am moving this to the Rashada thread. That's where ALL discussion will go for now until @candymanfromgc decides to close it as we move on.

I personally don't think we need to discuss every story that comes out about him any longer.

A lot of what Corral said is making my point. And Mullen did visit him mid-Dec after Corral visited Ole Miss. Someone who “doesn’t want” a kid doesn’t do that.

Only for jock sniffers. I think the real fans have made their opinions on the matter clear. I'll quote myself after he committed from UM to us, "Call me in two years. If he's here, we'll talk." Some of us could see this coming a mile away. Kinda sad how many were excited when he did flip from UM. I mean, you must be drinking the cool aid if you think this guy was the answer to our problems.

I don't know why, but the baseball guys always seem to be a bit more buttoned up. Okay, DJ aside. . .

That's the issue for all three schools. Even this year, out of state schools took all the top talent. In that respect, loyalty is dead. Pretty sure the usual suspects were doing something akin to what's going on now, but were just keeping it in the shadows. This, as much as anything, is why I'm out on the sport as a whole. The provincial nature of it (our guys vs. their guys) was always one of the biggest hooks. Again, if it's just NFL-lite, I'll watch the better players (NFL) on the better format (RedZone).

    Gators aside, of course.
