Ron DeSantis warned Joe Biden his Florida visit could be ‘very disruptive’

Gov. Ron DeSantis and President Joe Biden continue to talk in the wake of Hurricane Idalia’s path through Florida, but there may not be complete alignment on every issue.

During a press conference in Tallahassee, DeSantis said he warned the President that traveling to certain parts of the state affected by the storm could be logistically “very disruptive.”

“I will say just one thing that I did mention to him on the phone is where these communities, the hardest hit communities, (are), it would be very disruptive to have the whole kind of security apparatus that goes because there’s only so many ways to get into these places,” DeSantis said.

I'm having a hard time keeping up with the right wing rulebook on when a POTUS should visit a disaster area

Too bad some of that emergency money was spent on his Martha’s Vineyard stunt

He was talking about visiting certain areas. It was a logistical comment, not a demand that he stay out of Florida.

Ok now go back and read his Maui quote. So what you're saying is there is a logistics issue with Florida but there wasn't one with Hawaii? Get out of here with that. Strange how there wasn't a logistics issue when Biden visited after Ian

I suspect DeSantis is worried about getting the Christie treatment.

The feds know how to do natural disaster visits. They've had a lot of practice. What a petty, graceless child DeSantis is, holding his hand out for money, while dismissing Biden as an ignorant incompetent.

    From the Post:

LIVE OAK, Fla. — President Biden traveled to Florida on Saturday to survey the damage caused by Hurricane Idalia, part of a storm response he assured would not be mired in politics.
But the trip quickly became ensnared in the partisan squabbling of the 2024 presidential race as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican seeking to oust Biden from office, criticized the president’s visit and declined to meet with him.
Biden had said Thursday that he would meet with DeSantis in Florida, but the next day the governor’s office suggested the visit would be disruptive to the response effort after the Category 3 hurricane battered a rural part of the state.
“In these rural communities, and so soon after impact, the security preparations alone that would go into setting up such a meeting would shut down ongoing recovery efforts,” Jeremy Redfern, the governor’s press secretary, said Friday.
White House officials disputed that characterization, with spokeswoman Emilie Simons saying that the visit had been “planned in close coordination with FEMA as well as state and local leaders to ensure there is no impact on response operations.”

For you Fox News fans, I found this picture of Biden sexually assaulting a black woman while simultaneously lecturing a white lady about white privilege. And it that Urban Meyer, what's he doing there???

That seems odd given that Maui's land area is 727 square miles and Florida's is 65,758.

I think President Biden may be reminding the white lady accepted fashion custom dictates she has but two days to wear her white sandals before she must put them away until Memorial Day, 2024.

It is unknown why the black lady wearing the Gator tee shirt and white sandals is not receiving similar attentions to the other women. Perhaps it is because Biden has but two hands to make his points.

It appears Urban is attempting to flee the scene.

It's the smart move. It takes some guts to turn down a photo op with the POTUS. DeSantis checks most of the boxes for me, he just has no shot unless Trump is removed from the ballot.

Actually it would have taken more guts to meet with the POTUS than to turn down the photo op. I'm sure that DeSantis knows what happened to Christie after his photo op with Obama and today's Republican party has become much more hyperpartisan than the Republican Party of 2011 and 2012.

If I was Biden, I'd make DeSatan meet me and take one of those giant sized checks for from me while shaking my hand. No hand shake, no federal aid.

Can you imagine the sound of his teeth grinding! lolz
