There is nothing contradictory about democracy and suppression of speech.

This is great! Maybe they can have a full team of investigators checking out every complaint from every kid who wants to get back at his teacher for a bad grade.

The funding and the curriculum for schools should be local. I don’t even like them having to check with some state official 400 miles away and certainly not any federal official 2000 miles away. That’s the point of school board. Elected by the local constituents to represent them and work in tandem to decide what they want to teach/ emphasize in their local school system. If north atlanta wants to take a different approach than Savannah or Boston or ft Myers then go for it

I think there needs to be some evening out of funding thru the state and probably the feds. Otherwise you’d have an even more widening gap between rich and poor.

just my opinion but the farther away you get the less efficient it becomes. Empower the local municipality. Parents drop off kids now and put it all on teachers. A lot of these kids cannot read or count. Allow the school boards to let parents know “ hey, this curriculum is what you voted for and wanted “ so they have a vested interest. And the accountability stays local too. Also stop filling the day school time with Bs that serves no legitimate function. Until your kid can read , write and count we don’t do other electives. Simplify it. I also realize doing any of this takes away power and money from bloated state and federal officials so it will never happen.

Evolution - points to grownup germs which are sometimes required to wear masks to keep out germs. Read about in textbooks before it’s too late!
