    &

Your own article says TR removed the Nation's motto from coinage.

NB: TR was POTUS and no longer POTUS, before 1956.

We're you thinking of the Pledge of Allegiance ("...one nation under God...")?

I say this on occasion: when read as a parody account, it is hands down some of the best content on the web.

No, read further. It was put back on in 1956. “One nation under God” was also added to the pledge during the 50s. You know that, Cold War and all that.

Let's take it one more step. According to whom did Moses do this? Heck, according to whom did Moses even exist?

I don't know what you mean to say. Be thorough and explain what you mean in detail, please.

What documentation reports that there was a guy was named Moses and that this guy spoke to God and brought down commandments from that God?

Oh, so a religious text claims that he existed? It seems like this is religion then! Thanks for letting us know.

I wonder how many of those opposed the posting of the Ten Commandments in a school or government building would have the same level of opposition if the ten rules were attributed to Siddhartha Gautama?

No, all of us don't. Some of us teach our children to be careful with their digital footprints :)

I would. But perhaps you should ask the converse question - I wonder how many of those supporting the posting of the Ten Commandments in a school or government building would have the same level of support if the ten rules were attributed to Siddhartha Gautama?

Sounds like poisoning the waters to me. That was documented in Exodus as well.

Seriously, you believe people are deadly disease vectors. But believing God spoke to a dude is a bridge too far ?

Ben Franklin had it as the motto of a militia in the 1740's.
    1. This is not accurate.
It did not come off all coins and has remained a constant since Lincoln signed it into law.

    2. Theodore Roosevelt only had it removed from two revised coins temporarily (eagle and double eagle) and wanted it kept on public buildings etc.

    3. Note most coins received the moto years after the Civil War and have maintained it to this day:

In God We Trust (or, rarely, its variation, God We Trust) first appeared on 2¢ coins, which were first minted in 1863 and went into mass circulation the following year. According to David W. Lange, a numismatist, the inclusion of the motto on a coin was a major driver for the popularisation of the slogan.[44] Other coins, that is, nickels, quarter dollars, half dollars, half eagles and eagles, have had In God We Trust engraved from 1866 on.[45] Dollar coins got the motto in 1873 for trade dollars and 1878 for common circulation Morgan dollars.
