Dude. Refs are there to make the SEC money. We benefited from USF, but we need to be on the other side of it in SEC games…meaning we need to make the sec some money.
I understand how a bad call can give new life to a drive or even score points. However, bad calls are not why the Gators lost today. I was bad schemes, play calls, bad execution, and just plan bad playing of the game. Good team will find a way to play against bad refs.
Florida lost because of the huge talent discrepancy, period! You you add bad officiating on top of that we had no chance.
It’s going to take some time. You can’t neglect recruiting for four years and then not bother to develop the young players and expect better than this. I was there for 0-10-1 and that team was better than this one except for QB. Napier had a lot of losing culture to weed out and I think he has done an excellent job. There are more than a couple of kids that he is going to have to move along to another program. Anyone who doesn’t recognize that Richardson is developing into a passer either isn’t watching or doesn’t know QB play. Georgia’s OL and DL were bigger, faster, and stronger than ours. Even with that our boys never quit, didn’t do anything stupid, and if the refs called an even game we would have had a much closer game. Good times are ahead but we will need patience for another year.
I mean we did get it to within 8 points forcing back to back turnovers even after the lucky bobble catch and some questionable calls in the 1st half.
I like that he hates us so much. Shows how much Spurrier got under his skin - shows how much gators got under his skin. He is a POS though. Putting hit on Pitts makes me think of him on a different level - a pathetic level.
No one said we lost because of the officiating did they? Who did that? I get that some people can't have a positive perspective no matter what they see but don't make stuff up.
They were the better team. They are ranked number 1. Feel better? We were supposed to lose and we did. Did you go into the game thinking our team was better? What are you upset about if you thought they were better coming into the game?
Genuinely impressed Marshall didn't throw his helmet down and walk off the field in frustration or something after the last "holding" call on him. They were certainly better than us and would've won regardless but those calls were just pathetic. The Pearsall no call when he got bumped in the endzone and the long hail mary-ish throw to Shorter had more contact initiated by the db than anything Marshall did all day.
I know this is a Gator football forum and we need to vent after our games (losses especially). But if we are going to bitch about the refs, we just need to post on the same thread each and every week. There is the "we lost because of" thread and there is the "damn, these are the SEC refs???" thread. I presume most of us want to post on the latter. It is truly a shame that the SEC has such lousy refs. We fans deserve better. This isn't professional wrestling...allegedly.
No one has said that's why we lost but take those away and it's a different game even with all of those things you mentioned. Teams gotta play by the same rules.
