I'm a bit surprised they're even getting ticketed if the ticketing officer knows who they are. Most of the time I see law enforcement getting into trouble on the road is when they're in an unmarked vehicle and turn out to be severely intoxicated. In any event, here - if the same driver or drivers is behind numerous tickets and can't do their jobs safely, they absolutely should be subject to paying fines and if bad enough, losing their job and/or license.

If you are driving a government vehicle you should be subject to the same laws and regulations the rest of us are. As one who put +30k miles a year on a county vehicle for 25 years I know that well. Individual officers will often give you a break if you aren't doing anything too stupid but that is their choice. Something caught on red light cam needs to be addressed. We had drive cams in our vehicles and although drive cams are just for supervisory purposes we would get our butts chewed out if we did anything real stupid. I got caught a couple of times for not wearing my seat belt or smoking in my vehicle. Only one major driving violation though, that was when I got out of my truck and forgot to put it in park. I ended up having to chase my run away truck across a field. LOL My boss put the video of me chasing the truck to the music of the Six Million Dollar Man with the twang sound when I caught it. Then he showed it in a meeting to the entire department. I never lived that one down.

Reckless. She should pay the fines from her campaign and fire her driver/security detail.

Good grief. No one's questioning whether or not the vehicles assigned to her received tickets. But there's a quite a bit of difference between:

While I do not think that anyone will deny that city vehicles driven by city employees (police) used to transport the mayor have been issued tickets, it's absurd to blame her. It's really a non-issue and it seems that you should just concede that there is really nothing to the story. The problem isn't that the story is inaccurate, it's that it's slanted to the point of absurdity (the original from Fox much more so than the story in the recent link).

Although your post is off-topic for this thread the following should be informative.
Majority of Guns Used in Chicago Crimes Come From Outside Illinois: Report – NBC Chicago

If you're really concerned about murders in Chicago I suppose that you would support much stricter gun control laws in the states where the weapons originate not to mention stricter federal laws as well as a significant increase in the number of agents in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to crackdown on gun trafficking.
