Yet sometimes there is a reason a player plays a position in high school. Sometimes that is just their skill set but they don’t have the size, speed, instincts or whatever …… speed to play elsewhere.
The problem with this method is that you don’t have time to be patient anymore. Might be better to take a lower ranked ILB who already knows how to play the position. And of course it’s not B&W . Every situation is different.
Yes, to a degree. Miller I think is illustrative too. He was a thumper in high school, and I expected him to do well as an ILB, but this is the first year I feel like I can say he can be the guy we rely on in the spine of the defense. That's a long road too taking a lower rated ideal ILB type.
I am probably not factoring in the CRob factor to Miller. I expect a lot more out of LB this year and especially next year.
He was a stud in 2020. Made some all-SEC lists. Was easily our biggest missing piece on D last year …minus a Todd replacement. We are VERY fortunate he’s back. Outside of AR getting hurt, he would be the biggest loss IMO if something were to happen.
Not a problem. According to ESPN the schools that could claim as DBU are Ohio St, LSU, Alabama, Miami and UF.
It seems like only 2 questions remain regarding Napier’s recruiting…can we hold on to these guys til signing day and we can get multiple top 100 elite players? Other than that I would say he has exceeded expectations especially after the slow start that had me major worried.
