Recruiting the 2023 football class.

As does everyone else and they always will. Geography doesn’t mean much anymore. Recrui is national and we have talent. Floridians are rare anymore and we will not stop the poaching. Just get in there and get what we can. This new generation aren’t just gators and clowns anymore.

 

Very true. Of course, any program should try to hunt talent in the places where it exists. But, I also think it's important to note that sometimes too much attention is paid to how many players a school poaches from the state of Florida. It's not the number of players that they take from this state that matter; after all, the Florida teams can only take so many players. But what is important is the quality of those players. In the case of OSU, it's the commitment of highly rated recruits (including two 5* and four 4* players) that is doing so much to pull their class ranking up to 2nd.

 

This.... Native Floridians ARE rare. Alot of these kids may come from families with generational ties to other parts of the country and other schools. As a genrational Central Floridian I was born Gator, raised Gator, and educated Gator... regardless of where life takes me. I would think the same applies for alot of other folks.

 

The one area I’ll complain about is LB recruiting. Or are we going to a 4-1-6 defense ?

 

Yeah and he was coming off a BAD year at UNC. But if you look ah Bateman and Spencer they have top ten defenses in sacks and TFL everywhere so hopefully that helps and when kids see it gives us a push down the line

Has anyone seen anything about LSU's Perkins and Singletary possibly entering the portal? I saw a tease on it, and although there's no "reliable" attribution, it is a potentially intriguing bit of tid.
