Don't know what it is for sure, but there is something going on with Jordan Hall and the Gators this afternoon.
Gators made the top 5 cut for Miami Northwestern 2023 WR Andy Jean. The 6-1 180 its the 45th WR and #322 ranked player.
It started yesterday with the two commitments from Jacksonville. Tweeted something like “3 out of 3.” Then there was another tweet asking Coach Napier to touch base with him.
Not getting too excited unless another IMG D lineman falls our way. Regarding M’Pemba’s ranking, On3 is a major outlier among the other services. Barely trust their composite rankings since it includes their own rankings. IMHO, M’Pemba is the best DE and the best TE prospect in this class.
This may have been posted before (don't know) but the #2 player for the 2024 class IMG CB Desmond Ricks has UF in his top 6, by the way Jackson St its also on it.
This is the type of guy Raymond locks in. Now that he's settled in at UF, relationships are building and he will get who he wants in 2023 and beyond.
I suspect Simmons is an absolute "not likely" at this point. Is Kirkland wavering or is UF wavering on him? I have a hunch the coaches are casting some broader nets for OL in this class.
From what I have read UF has cooled in Kirkland. Don’t know if accurate. Those same sources say he has let himself go weight and shape wise in a big way.
We are not getting an instant ready to play guy this year, so getting Kirkland or Simmons is not a make or break. If Torrence shows out this year, we will know that development is the key as long as we get something to work with in recruiting. We do need bodies at OL this year though. I want to start hearing more about backup plans because using the portal for OL is desperation more than it is strategy.
It looks like UF was third on Simmons list and not a close third, behind FSU and Tennessee. Former Pitt and now USC WR transfer Jordan Addison its pissed the Trojans have not followed through on their promises.
So, now that the incoming and outgoing transfers seem to have settled out, how big can this class be? We have 12 committed now, so if they (magically) all stick, how much more room does that leave us to add under the current rules? And, of that number, how many slots might be left open for NSD? Doesn't seem like we would have all that many more to add by ESD considering all of that. Maybe, what, ten or 12 more by ESD?
