It does not seem like too many people actually know what is happening or if they do we probably won’t know until everything passes. It just seems weird that a number of kids you are perceived to be leading for suddenly start going other places. To be fair I am not sure how many of them we actually lead for and missed on. The only one that really stands out at the moment is Webb and he hasn’t committed anywhere….yet.
Why don’t you read a few threads before you keep posting unsubstantiated stuff here that’s already been posted a dozen times. 5* QB Jaden Rashada
I believe Rashada's attorney said the Gator Collective offered $11 million for Rashada and they turned it down. Both the Collective and Ruiz in Miami have denied this happened. Also , Rashada's attorney really dislikes the Gator Collective for some reason but hasn't gone public with his reasons why. This situation was reported by Jeremy Crabtree for On3.
My impressions of the credibility of On3 has REALLY gone downward in the last six hours. They came up with an op-ed piece last night/this morning that was absolutely ridiculous!
Reading his tweets he really doesn't like Darren Heitner. Probably because Heitner has been calling him out on his tactics for a month. Caspino went as far as to say Heitner is the reason we aren't getting recruits. I can't imagine how maddening it must be to be a coach right now. Recruiting is now coming down to lawyers and their egos? Good grief.
The reason Rashada’s attorney dislikes the Gator Collective is because Heitner called him out on Twitter almost a month ago but didn’t name him by name. Basically said a California lawyer was calling Collectives and trying to shop players to sign with schools, which is against regulations. Not hard to piece this puzzle together.
Yep and you can tell who got under whose skin. Caspino is taking shots at Heiner that make no sense. He wrote that no one in the NIL space takes Heitner seriously and yet...
heitner is a double secret agent, heading the UF collective and yet…working with Miami and Ruiz to get players to UM. No conflict of interest here? As a UF grad and booster, there is no situation I can envision in which I would throw up the “U” or do the tomahawk chop. This would be doubly so for me if I was the one raising and disbursing funds for the GATOR collective. Heitner is also the one who helped to write the Florida NiL law which is now hampering us as it is more stringent than nearly every other state.
He is working with Ruiz on multiple football players and NiL deals, including kids in the portal and out of high school. , exactly what he said is not allowed by state and ncaa regs and what he claims he cannot and will not do for UF. He is actively working with active UF players which is good. (Any big money that would’ve been discussed with Rashada and UF would’ve been through the gator guard)
If that's true then he shouldn't be involved with the Gator guard or collective. Represent the athletes or represent the collective. Not both.
As an attorney / business I understand working with as many people as you can to make as much $ as possible for yourself. But I don’t like the optics of possible conflicts here.
Over the past 30 years, there are a lot of programs that have never had the most talent on the field but found a way to compete. How'd they do it? A unique scheme that was tough to defend. (Fun-n-gun, Air Raid, Wish bone, spread, etc...) There has been very little innovation of college offenses since the spread. I have a feeling the next big thing is coming. Because of NIL, 95% of the teams have almost no chance at winning a championship (if everyone is running the same scheme). It's time to innovate. It looks like we are putting a lot of emphasis on the OL and DL. If you can't get the elite WR, or QB ... ram the ball down their throats and control the trenches. The I formation is still a bitch to defend. If I were Napier, I would scheduled a meeting with the UF Athletics Department Ambassador and get his thoughts. ***No ... I'm not throwing in the towel on the Talent Acquisition Business that is college football. I've just moved on from NIL and am trying to figure out what happens next.
Bear in mind the Gaotr Collective and the Gator Guard are separate entities. Hathcock and the guard are the big money deals like this one.
What I don’t understand is everyone is saying Florida doesn’t involve themselves in the bidding wars, they don’t discuss figures to get players to sign, etc. But they also say that Rashada was being shopped and at the same time they also say that Florida was his leader up until Miami swooped in with an offer. So if he was being shopped and Florida was about to land him, why do people think Florida isn’t making offers?
