It’s worse than that,., Part of project 2025 is to reclassifying 500,000 public servants as political appointees… the current number is around 4,000. We are talking about qualified experts in their fields, who worked their way up the ladder, being replaced with anyone who kissed Trump’s fat ass sufficiently.

 

As mentioned above, lengthy delays would occur if dems had a majority.

Appointments should be done timely, but not instantaneously and for a reason. We should all hope for reasonable choices. But this is the MAGA government—POTUS, House, Senate. To your point, it was known this is what Trump and MAGA would aim to do. And many like yourself supported it: a disruptive approach, disregarding “burdensome” checks and balances when governing. And first up are his appointees. Let’s see if he selects those that are firstly, have complete fealty to Trump. And then offer simple sounding yet disruptive solutions. But you guys won the election, so here we go.

I just hope and pray this MAGA-led U.S. government works out for the good of our country.

 

You mean like how Republican Senators absolutely refused to allow Obama to fill over 120 vacant judge positions for years? Yes. I would 100% be fine with any Democratic Senator who grew a spine and did everything in his or her power to derail Emperor Trump I.

 

We are moving towards some parliamentary system without a “no confidence” mechanism.

 

I’m all for it. Let working class voters see what kind of judge rulings for employers come from them. Suckers.

I’m sorry,but that’s … cute. Trump is going to steamroll his agenda, with no serious checks. The senators are scared of him, he has the party-majority, and he will do what he wants, how he wants, and when he wants.

 

These are the people that believe the tax cuts for the rich will benefit them. They’ll believe whatever spin Trump puts in things.

 

I would not be ok with this. I would prefer there is the necessary and detailed due diligence that goes into vetting someone with the power of a cabinet official appointment.
