Johnson can probably carry that load for at least the next two years if none of the rest of them pan out but running back is never a position I’m worried about. Give me the best offense of line in the SEC and I’ll run through that shit
He seems to have been there for the taking. I wonder what the board looks like and if they are putting it all in on Baxter. I have taken webb but maybe they only want one back. It’s all speculation isn’t it?
yea man idk what’s going on with the board at RB. I had the feeling we were taking 2 this cycle but maybe they’re going all in on Baxter and if so, they BETTER land him. I’m like you, I’d have pushed Webb for a commitment like ASAP
I have to believe they want two RBs. Maybe they think Eddie Battle is more than a special teams player?? Baxter > Webb (I'm not sure it's even close)
Rb is the one spot you can always make up ground on though. It’s just not that much of a learning curve like building a line or getting a qb ready.
Maybe just looking for his "market value" and doesn't want to feel like he's getting the legacy discount, who knows
All the talk about landing two elite RBs in this class always seemed a little ambitious to me considering our recent RB recruiting history. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Im not about to sit here and pretend that I’m all that upset about Webb probably going elsewhere (dude is fairly overrated), but the optics of this are pretty terrible. It’s time to stop acting like any player is a “lock” at this point (i.e. Mizell).
Doesn’t sound all that likely with Baxter. SW is saying UT and A&M are both ahead of us and he hasn’t OV to A&M yet. What is our fall back if there is no Baxter, Hayes, or Webb?
Lord knows what happened with Webb. Oh well, it’s not like he invented or perfected the position. There are other backs out there. Isn’t our RB room pretty full as is?
