I don't really know for sure, but an interview I saw with him a couple of weeks ago made it seem like he was still genuinely interested in UF. If I missed any "news" to the effect that he's dropped us, then I stand corrected. But personally, my faith in the CBs coming out from some the so-called "recruiting experts" isn't all that great anymore. I suppose time will tell.
Yea def if we’re doing a zone blocking scheme. dont wanna sound arrogant, but if the OL picks up zone blocking, wont really matter who you have at RB
Read that 2023 RB Michael Mitchell will be at UF for a multi day visit. (Not sure when). Speed RB who is committed to Utah but from Florida.
His Hudl looks pretty solid. I am not sure what kind of competition he plays against but it looks like they are similar to the two schools in Gainesville. Definitely looks like a kid that will rise during his Sr year. I would not mind him being the second back in our class.
Hard to compete with that. Do you think they guarantee $1 million for four seasons? Wild. Imagine if a kid invests all of that and waits 20 years. I know, not gonna happen.
Move the chains. Sustain long scoring drives. Pound the opponent into submission. I can live with all of that.
Let me take this back. I forgot he was injured last year so that affected his top end speed. Hamstring injury all last year
Looking at the film he looks like he is slightly favoring one leg. If so he heals up and we have a monster back coming!!!
I did a little digging on Mitchell, and came up with another shining example of the recruiting "experts" not being able to agree on whether or not the Earth is actually a sphere. On.3 has him as a solid 4* at 92.00, #7 RB and #157 nationally. Everybody else has him somewhere between "meh" and "who dat?" I also saw where his grades are supposedly an issue, which could partially explain the off the radar status he is currently experiencing. Apparently though, the staff has enough interest to at least kick the tires a bit. So maybe he's shown something in the classroom that seems to make him look a little less like a lost cause academically. TBH, the film I saw was not bad at all. He does seem to have some pretty good wheels to go with good size and strength. It will be interesting to see if he emerges as a real possibility for that second RB spot. Of course, if Baxter turns out to be a pleasant surprise, all other bets are probably off. Stay tuned.
He has a nice initial burst which is impressive given that injury. He just needs another gear when he gets to the second level which he seems to do with ease. Very crafty, powerful runner.
Emmitt was not the fastest RB, but had best vision, balance, … to always get positive yards. If we have the talent and depth at OL, our RBs should do well
