You define anyone who is not MAGA as “leftist”. That is a political construct that only the MAGA world recognizes.

I would not characterize your posting as center right. It’s pretty much cheerleading for Trump and has no particular ideology.

There is no substance above. I won’t recite the reasons he is bad, but Trump did not really change anything radically for the better. You act as if his mere existence made things substantially better. Nothing he did was particularly outstanding or noteworthy, other than not starting any new wars, which is noteworthy and gives him something in common with Jimmy Carter.

    1. Lower taxes
    2. Lower national debt-FAIL
    3. Lower federal spendingFAIL
    4. Smaller governmentFAIL
    5. Opposed ACA as the national health care planFAIL
    6. Strict adherence to the US ConstitutionFAIL
    7. Much respect for the Founding Fathers & the US Republic FAIL
    8. Belief in American exceptionalism FAIL
    9. Opposed liberal world order, globalism - I dont see liberal world order as bad. You clearly don’t know what liberal means in this context. It’s as if you were saying you supported authoritarian chaos. Also Trump did little to end globalism, fortunately
    10. Avoid foreign wars OK, 1.5 out of 10 isn’t bad.

It’s just talk. You guys love talk. Most of this stuff never happened.

    95% bullshit

The Tea Party had a lot of nut jobs and mostly just wanted to burn things down but at least they did generally have a consistent theme of wanting smaller government and forced Obama’s hand to slow govt growth. Trump blew that up completely and has no interest whatsoever in small government. He was supporting Hillary Clinton just before the Tea Party came around. Trump does not give 2 shots about the Tea Party economic agenda. He did carry over and amplify Tea Party cultural resentment by stoking the Obama birth certificate racist nonsense.

Again mostly nonsense. Yes there are leftists and extremists in the Democratic Party and they have had an impact but the party center has mostly resisted them. Kamala like Obama in the senate voted down the line left it both are ultimately not ideologues and are pragmatists.

As to Gaza yes much of the left has crapped their pants, but Netanyahu is a sleeze who is trying to dismantle democracy and also potentially stringing out a war mainly for his own internal political protection. One can support Israel and oppose Hamas and their supporters but at the same time realize Netanyahu is not a good guy.

When Trump took office, fentanyl deaths were at about 21k per year. When Biden took office, fentanyl deaths were at about 60k per year. Fentanyl deaths have actually declined for the first time this past year.

I gotta think Covid made that a lot worse. Everything’s closed. Lots of people out of work. Bored. Existential dread from a global pandemic.

Well they used to support Reagan types, now they support Trump types. Reagan would detest Trump.

Sorry. There has been a move.

I am no longer posting on TH, but make an exception to applaud your valiant effort to promote reasonable and intelligent dialogue. It has been futile in many instances because too many opinions are not based upon facts and reasonable inferences therefrom.....and I'm humble enough n to recognize that some of mine are also based upon gut reaction rather than facts. I'll continue reading your and other open- and fair-minded posts, however.

I would argue both sides went farther each way. Look at the platform Clinton ran on compared to now. Trump moved super right also. I honestly think if someone was smart enough to take the best from both sides(yes, both sides have some things the majority of americans support) and ditch the far Right/left policies that a lot of people hate. For example, R's take on Abortion is terrible and the D's take on the border is a disaster. And please no one throw RFK jr at me. That guy is bat shit crazy.

We're fighting the Leftists' extremism. But the establishment hasn't caught on to that.

The fringe right media likes to make that claim, but it has never been established by an inkling of evidence any place, any time. It is bogey-man nonsense.

It’s a whole lot bigger than that. But frankly, even if that were true, with the way Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and now Kamala Harris sneers at that half of the country, can you really blame them?

Democrats decided for God knows what reason from 2012 forward that their long-term strategy was rallying a hardcore Democratic coalition to victory, even at the expense of many independents and complete alienation of Republicans. These are simply part of the consequences of those decisions.

If you feed half the country crap, insult them as racists, bitter clingers, deplorables, idiots, and threats to Democracy… don’t be shocked when they go out and vote for bulldogs like Ron DeSantis or Donald Trump.

Didn't it take the combined forces of Britain, France, the Soviet Union, and the United States to take down Hitler?

And don’t we still consider it worth it based on just how threatening he was?

You don’t think there’s any hyperbole here in the comparisons to Hitler?

10/10 for victimhood in this post.

I'm also very -VERY- angry at those Dem politicians for "sneering at half the country." I much prefer how the kind and gentle Trump calls half the country communists.

It's also terrible how people called Trump supporters all those names for supporting the racist, deplorable, threat to democracy Trump. Calling them names like that forced them to.......support Trump.

You just can't help yourself, can you? We are asked to say why we vote republican and support Trump. It isn't a debate. You fit the non-moderate that is left of center that cannot be communicated with. What you think is irrelevant and off topic.

That’s actually a big difference I’ve seen between people who typically vote Democrat and people who typically vote Republican.

Democrat voters commonly call Republican politicians AND voters evil, stupid, racist, bigoted, sexist, etc.

Republican voters commonly call Democrat politicians socialists, but they typically reserve the majority of those types of criticisms to the politician until someone else attacks their character. And frankly, more and more Democrats own that label these days.

Bernie Sanders and AOC call THEMSELVES socialists whereas Trump supporters typically feel insulted or attacked when they’re called racist. That says an awful lot in my opinion.

OIC. Followers of a criminal con man who runs on a platform of racist Othering are none of those things. But Dem voters, in fact, ARE quite socialist. (Not that any kind Republicans ever call anyone socialist, except when reacting to Dem meanness.)

    All clear.

A moderate is not the same as a centrist.
A moderate conservative (like myself) will be right of center and a moderate liberal (like him) will be left of center. Moderate just means you view your side with a non extremist, closer to center pov. Moderate doesnt mean dead center.

I was a bit harsh…and having a little fun with trickster.
But we all have different experiences with posters.
I think trickster has a good heart, but he is also a bit sensitive.
He’s blocked and unblocked me like 10 times lol.
