No dribbling coach but I’m pretty sure Kyrie, Steph, and CP3 learned how to dribble by watching my high school footage.

I promise I hope for better but as you probably can tell I lean on the side of pessimism. Ben Franklin once said “don’t expect people to excel in a task , you will never be disappointed!”

CC is supposed to be ready by Jan 1st. We probably will have played ten games by then. Your best player from last year missing from the lineup, it will cost us unless we find a decent big, make no mistake. No small ball!

I have seen nothing that says that either CC or JJ won’t be ready by the start of the season.

It is the Eggs being ready to play by January post/joke.

You have been around the block here.

    I can't believe you didn't get it.

You might be right. I just have seen so many "ready by January" jokes here.

I hope this isn't another one.

Shoulder surgeries for injuries that a player can play through are not usually a 6+ month recovery ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I must of missed the joke! Sorry guys, hopefully he is ready by fall practice and the early games.
I know a lot of people are excited CC & JJ are coming back, me too. But we need another big for the annual lumps taken. It seems we have been snake bit the last couple of years. No more short rosters!

Both coaches are riding the journeys of super athletes on offense. With Napier it is Richardson and the running backs.

if Richardson as I hope, has a super year, all defenses will have to be geared to stop him, and that opens up what has to be considered to be one of the most formidable backfields in the nation let alone the SEC. We go at least four deep at running back. So IF our offensive line finally emerges as an SEC caliber run block squad, our offense will do remarkable things in year one.

Typically when opponents cannot stop an offense, it causes them to take risks while they are on offense. With a solid secondary and a good pass rush, we can compensate for any lack of depth in our run defense that we might have. If our offense is putting up major points, then opposing teams will not be able to exploit our perceived lack of depth as a run stopping defense.

Basketball is another story. We know what we are going to get with Castleton. He is a double double guy with 3 blocks a game and 3 assists maybe more.

Reeves and Fudge are the X factors. If Reeves can develop a more dominant game as he had in HS, it will leave Fudge to reek havoc. Defenses cannot account Mt for all three. Someone is going to have to be double teamed when they are hot, and that leaves the other two to exploit defenses.

However, we have to have someone who can run the offense. I think Golden has adequate resources through the portal and incoming class.

So on the basis of those core players, I would give Golden the edge although I see major leaps forward for both programs.

i agree, though the SEC usually outperforms by March, after all the stud recruit Freshmen (seems half the SEC has a top 20 recruiting class each year) get experience and start to play better

    I'm voting basketball.
The depth is better and the experience is there.
Much easier for a few key pieces to come together.

Won't argue with that. It's probably a matter of coaching for either squad.

There were some awesome Depaul teams in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Some of them had maybe half dozen players got almost all of the minutes. Ironmen.

Dave Corzine and Mark Aguirre were two very good players in the 70's and 80's for DePaul.

Big Depaul fan and they played Clyde Bradshaw, Gary Garland, Mark Aguirre, Curtis Watkins and Jim Mitchem to the final 4 and lost to Bird's ISU. Later years with better recruiting they had more of a bench...it was a shame Coach Ray never won a championship and the program has been a disaster now for decades.
