Well, yeah. And one thing that hasn't been mentioned is that streaming TV, whether you view it on your laptop or your gigantic 65" HD TV screen, has picture quality worse than if you watch it as an HD broadcast on your TV.

I think that depends on your provider. My streaming through Cox cable is still HD 1080p. It's not 4K but it's still acceptable.

I have DIRECTV Stream (formerly AT&T TV) logged in and it said not available. I then did ESPN+ right next to it and it worked. Literally tried side by side.

Yep, it's the ESPN/SEC app that's the problem. I have and use lots of apps--Netflix, HBO, Peacock, etc., including a couple for watching tv from several European countries

Doesn’t matter to me anyway. I already cancelled so it’s a $7 one time expense plus I read some espn+ content articles on recruiting and such which I found informative.

I also have directtv stream. I watched it. There were two streams, one on espn+ and one on sec+. I did not pay the extra $7. You were duped, sorry.

Good deal. Glad you found some value in it. Most of what they offer is just obscure sports. I missed like two softball games and maybe one baseball game last year that were only on espn+, but I wasn’t going to be forced into it. Should be free for us that already pay for an espn subscription. They should charge a few bucks extra and just give all the content to those who only want to pay for espn programming. That’s the biggest issue I have with it, paying for espn+ doesn’t give you access to all the normal espn content.

The commercials are for me with Cox.

Game play is often looking like 16-bit graphics.

It seems that yes, games that used to be with cable provider and streamable on “ESPN3” app if you logged in now require the separate subscription to ESPN+. The football game for me specifically said “not available in your area”, so maybe it works only in certain areas via the “free” route?

On the bright side, the streaming quality seemed much improved vs. ESPN3 (at least it was for the basketball game, the football game had some hilariously bad camera work and production but the quality of the stream was still good.)

If you pay for sec network, games on sec+ are free. You do not need espn+.
