I've got AARP Medicare Advantage through United Healthcare.
I keep getting phone messages from an outfit called Wellmed I have been ignoring their calls and their phone messages figuring they were just sales scam people trying to get their foot in the door..

So yesterday I get a letter in the mail from Wellmed saying I was referred to them by Dr Ghuman (My cardiologist) and United Healthcare about my upcoming heartcath. Before I give them a call back does anybody know anything about this Wellmed outfit? Are they legit of just trying to pull a stunt to get me to hook up with them?

My advantage plan is thru UHC but Wellmed is part of it. I'm not sure exactly how, an administrator or what. But they're real.

Mine is with Humana. And I keep getting calls, the same voice mail every time, from "Humana" wanting to tell me about benefits I may not know about. I ignore the calls, Humana can send me something in the mail, they don't have to call. So a phone call from Humana or Wellmed doesn't mean it's from Humana or Wellmed. Something in the mail is different and can be legit.

Yeah that is them. Thanks everybody for the responses. Dr Ghumman is with Orlando Health. I'm just going to call them in the morning and and ask them. If everything is on the up and up I will call Wellmed and see what they want.

Yeah, i have UHC as well and I think it was WellMed who shipped me the kit for a colon cancer check.

Health insurance companies hook up with these outside orgs to put people on preventative care programs for chronic conditions.

I have a friend in Florida who is about 30 years older than me. He turned 65 and Humana started calling him. He signed up with no one but he kept getting Humana, WellCsre and United Health Care mailers, mostly Humana. Eventually he got a Humana card in the mail even though he hadn't filled out a single form. He eventually signed up with Wellcare but he got a Libertu dental card in the mail a m9n5h ago. He didn't fill out any of their paperwork either
