It doesn't appear most here are aware or capable of thinking these things. Only sky is falling allowed!
I didn't mean to imply that Lagway immediately takes over, but instead that I could totally see a scenario in which Rashada starts in 23 and 24, and potentially goes pro in 25 (if he pans out). But yes, I could see Lagway coming in 24 and beating out Rashada even and potentially starting the year after. Regardless, I think we're fine at QB. We need to get better AROUND the QB (WR, O-line) and especially in the defense.
We will be taking 2 QB's from the portal to round out the QB room this year. Both have 2 years remaining.
If this is true, it tells me that CBN has indeed strapped his saddle to Rashada and Miller for next year.
I've heard that McCall has transcript issues and will not be admitted. If so, this is a fall back plan. UF administration strikes again.
These guys are looking to better their stats to improve their draft stock.. IF Mertz or McCall were both considered 1st rounders they would have entered. Hence why AR left it was his best year to leave and get a higher draft stock. We will not get 2 seniors fighting it out for playing time. Expect MCCall to go to Tennessee or a team that needs a qb to get over the hump. The fact that we lose out on Leary to Kentucky is a bit concerning
Rashada can’t got pro till after 25. If he does really well, we could potentially lose Lagway. Maybe Lagway beats him out but that’s just one more year. Qb looks good now but the talented kids don’t sit long and tge qb can empty quick.
Nope, taking 2 QB is a clear sign you aren’t expecting Mertz to “fight it out”. Nobody ever said that
Why wouldn’t we? We are not losing him over a 1 year guy. He’s already been told we’d be going to the portal for a QB, and if anything he has a better chance of starting now, if it is Mertz, cause Mertz is horrid Rashada won’t leave unless he loses the job to DJ.
After I read this I looked him up. He went to LSU but didn’t bring interceptions with him. Joe Burrow College Stats | College Football at Sports-Reference.com
