We would have a 4 star white rapper if not for the University bowing to the mob after his rap lyrics were made public. Then there's the Kitna fiasco. These are the two excuses I can find.
He didn't look impressive but amazingly he got us 10 points to tie things up in the 4th quarter. Then he also made a bunch of deer in the headlights mistakes. Not real surprising being on the biggest of stages with the game on the line. The drive at the end of the half and getting us downfield to score a touchdown was impressive. Many of our past QB's have looked worse in that scenario.
Catcher. It was one of those weird things that stuck in my mind. It may not have even been him, but it was from someone that had some hamstring issues and his trainer incorporated running backwards as part of his training. It may have just been anecdotal, but it worked for whoever said it at the time.
I disagree that it's a strange injury for how it happened. That's one of the ways that hamstring injuries occur. As for him being courted off the field, I believe that was probably a Napier decision to just say hey we don't want to take any chances whatsoever. Don't even respond to his nonsense.
Lmao. He didn't look ready because he had had exactly two games to get #2 reps. And you think someone is going to magically come if the bench and be better. JFC. Complete lack of understanding about what goes on in college football.
My thought on that is Millen may have felt like he would be a third wheel behind Mertz and Lagway. May have talked to CBN and decided to preserve his last (?) year of eligibility. Speculation on my part but, whatever the reason I hope he can reconnect with the team. He looked good, to me, in the few snaps he got in the Spring game and he has experience. Warner may be very good to have around too but, we need to have a number 1 and backup at a minimum.
If you looked at his profile on the FL page, you would have seen he already has used his redshirt when he was at Nevada in 2021. Listed as a redshirt JR, he has a year left. He has more experience than Warner but Warner apparently practiced better and got the nod. These two are the only two with college experience. The other 3 probably have a very limited playbook since they more than likely were the practice squad QBs.
I should have looked. It makes me wonder exactly what his status is. Could sure use him now. Wish we had more insight into players we follow who just drop out of sight, so to speak. Lot of hype about Andy Jean during his recruitment and early stages of his career. He played a bit as a freshman then he was injured but we only get very general information at first, then no mention at all. I think I saw he made All SEC Scholastic team as a freshman so grades shouldn’t be a problem.
You know that's a good idea if we want a better team. Not going to win an NC with his shit play though!
There's a huge reason, which is that players want to win and have a successful college football career, not to mention be developed into better athletes by competent coaches. See Etienne for an example.
The only explanation I can think for Millen not playing are: Wants to concentrate on studies as the reason for choosing UF and always has been an extreme emergency use qb; Already decided to not play this year; Is hurt and not what he was as a freshman and sophomore; His being a turnover machine has spooked CBN; or CBN thinks a cerebral player with Gator ties is better. One fact remaining is that Warner is not in the same universe of passing ability or scrambling as Millen was. There has to be a serious reason for Millen not playing or CBN's head scratching decisions continue unabated.
