I am exhausted. I was up all night throwing the ball. Open tryouts are this Tuesday, and I have 4 years eligibility baby!

Worried about his arm strength. He’s gonna get picked with slow delivery. Not his fault and hopefully the coaches rely heavily on the run. Hope he shocks everyone now that he knows he’s starting and getting first team reps. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

So odd to have such a bad hammy injury on a play like that, usually its when a player is at a full sprint and they pull up vs his situation, and then to not be able to walk off the field on his own? Very strange.

I had several in hs, played lots of sports, esp football halfback. Recalling, a couple bad, you can feel okay if not straining it. But the moment I pushed 110%, as Lagway was doing, it was easily reinjured. My hope is that its a favorable stage 2. This raises the question, could Lagway play this year, but definitely with limited mobility, minimum scrambling for sure a no no, just execution and leadership? Maybe put a couple blockers back with him? . Anyway, will wait his injury news and hope there is a quicker way to get him on the field. imo

I'm serious, we can run from the I with a FB leading the way. The offensive line really held their own against Georgia. I could even see Dez as a GL FB plowing open huge holes.

Shut him down and deal with the initial injury. 3 weeks much too soon. These are injuries that linger with additional re-injury causing constant aggravation.

The season is what it became when QB1 and QB1a are top shelf players Qb2/3 is never a great option even in the league

I saw someone make an observation a long time ago, maybe it was Johnny Bench, that basketball players didn't seem to have as many hamstring injuries as other athletes. He attributed it to how much they ran backwards and worked the flexibility of the hamstring. I don't know if there is any validity to the theory, but it seems to at least warrant a look in training programs.

Please. Having a QB that can run was the plan. If Napier hadn't run DJ, you would have bitched about that.

It was a non-contact injury for crying out loud. I guess you think Napier should have given DJ a wheelchair and told him not to walk.

Didn't we lose to FSUs 3rd string qb last year?

besides Cardale Jones, is there a history of any 3rd string qbs being good?

Who is the backup to the 3rd string guy who’s now the starter? Warner isn’t very big and it’s not hard to see him possibly getting injured also. The 4 remaining opponents know this too. oof!

Actually, it was Rodemaker who beat us in the Swamp last year. He was 2nd string and transferred. Glenn was 3rd string. I think we would have won going away if it had been Glenn.

Where did you read that? His X profile still has him as QB at UF and latest tweet was 10/8 and tagging Florida Victorious.

I haven’t seen that, not saying it’s not true. He’s still listed on the roster and his personal X profile still says Quarterback at Florida. Nothing has been said about him though.

He could have slipped like that doing anything. Getting off the bus, for example.

I’ll say this as I rewatch the game…if there was a game where you had to go to your 3rd string QB, THIS was the game and perfect situation for it to happen in. Rivalry game with the lead and your D is playing excellent. Max Brown was thrusted into action last year backed by a D who couldn’t stop a colony of ants.

I know he’s limited arm talent wise, but I hope that with a better OL than we had last year when Max Brown (who’s thrown for 3 td’s to 6 ints for Charlotte this season btw), that CBN doesn’t go too conservative with the playcalling like we did against FSU (who to their credit had a whale of a DL last year).

When you all rewatch the game, there WERE throws there to be made in the passing game but you could sense he was hyped up. I hope, even if/when EW3 is byke next week (hopefully) we don’t resort to a horizontal offense
