I’m not advocating to keep it the way it is, just shooting holes through the simple fixes. NFL teams generate a lot more money than college teams. They do not have to fund an athletic department and many other teams with their revenue. They also have clear rules about how the revenue is distributed. Both sides have to want change to make the moves you guys want to make, and those rules still won’t get rid of NIL. The kids got the changes they wanted. They don’t really have a reason to negotiate for something that works better for the schools.

I’m sure every team is tampering as there are no consequences. Bottom line, his feelings are hurt because he wants to be here and we don’t value him as much as he values him. Of course, he’s got ppl in his ear so there’s that.

If so, good on the coaches. He was fine, but it was the DT that created pressures, and his tackles rate was not on the higher end on our DL.

This phase of NIL disfunction will work itself out. Players are taking advantage now.

At the very least teams will institute a solidarity payments system where a percentage of the increase in NIL will be paid by the acquiring team to compensate the team who developed the player, so the transfer will not be a total loss. It could be done in other ways too, but the courts will make it tricky.

I worked for the same company for almost 20 years, but would have likely jumped ship if another company was offering to double my salary and exposure and give me similar (or better) job security.

I get that, but that amount sounds low to me to not double down on myself and my teammates.

I’m not normal, but I did hang out and not jump ship even with promised promotions and huge salary increases from headhunters. Maybe I’m old school, but I would say it didn’t help me financially. It does make me sleep better at night knowing I’m true to myself.

I am not smart enough to post the tweet but it was reported by On3 that Pyburn wanted $45,000/month, guaranteed starting spot at OLB and guaranteed to play on 3rd downs and guaranteed more overall snaps. His request wasn’t met so he entered the portal.

tommy you have more skills with the posting and beat me to it as well.

The playing time is crazy and Someone will promise him that but it could turn into a situation where he ends up with less as well even with a said “guarantee” because it’s easy to sell that promise but when game time comes as a coach you would want to put your players in best situation and if he doesn’t fit that he may be sitting on the sidelines for 3rd down. He is great at holding his own for 1st and 2nd down but in a passing 3rd down he isn’t an elite pass rusher to be asking for that.

Saw this article today. Collective bargaining probably isn't far off.

Dude couldn’t get to the qb. We had better options to get pressure on 3rd and long.
