This is how it happens every time ... 2024 is no different. That's the only reason they care about cutting the budget, whatever co-president Elon cuts from the budget will be used to justify offsetting tax cuts for him and his buddies, and most Americans will be worse off with no benefit to the deficit. There isn't a person in the America who really believes the debt will be lowered by Trump and the republicans ...

Do you have an actual link to prove that?
It’s actually not. It’s about in the midpoint of the historical average.

Stands to reason, if I’m paying a lot more in taxes a cut for me is going to be a bigger cut than for someone who isn’t paying anything or much at all…

The revenues to GDP chart just confirms what I said. It's lower now than for most of the past 60 years. It's only been lower about 8 of the last 60 years.

If go back historically it’s been this low many, many times. This isn’t some big aberration.

Spending is still well above historical averages.

    We have a spending problem.

    From AI
“According to available data, the average federal tax receipts over the last 60 years, expressed as a percentage of GDP, is around 17%. This means that on average, the federal government collects about 17% of the total economic output as tax revenue.”

Sure, I guess if someone only pays a few thousand in Fed income taxes then they aren’t getting the same break as if I pay 100k a year and now only pay 90k….

Some democrats also fall into that category. I've met a number of wealthy and extremely condescending and snobbish democrats in the DC suburbs. I've often thought being a Democrat makes them feel better about themselves.

^ This may or may not be true, I'm not sure.

But we can ALL be sure that they can act like they didn't help elect a felon, who is also an admitted and adjudicated sexual assaulter. And the first and only POTUS in US history who tried to not peacefully transfer power, while enacting a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election.

I mean - holy shit - look at the twice-impeached absolute criminal that the Republicans just elected.

So in a relative sense, they've got a lot they can feel quite comparatively good about. Much better, in fact, than anyone who would help put a criminal into office.

    Rinse repeat, rinse repeat.

You almost had a new thought there for half a second, then the tape recorder came on.
