I guess the Communist revolution never ends!

I don't doubt that the U.S. has wanted to destabilize Cuba and stoke protests over the years. A lot has changed since the days of Elian Gonzalez though. I'm not sure there's much appetite in the U.S. these days for another large wave of Cuban refugees.

Sure, let's toughen them up by starvation. Solid plan.

My wife and I are watching the STARZ series Magic City, set in 1959 Miami during the Cuban Revolution. Pre-Revolution Havana must have been a happening place.

It's about to get worse, a lot worse. I feel bad for those people.

Agree. What’s done is done about the property and assets stolen (i.e. nationalized) from legitimate U.S. businesses (don’t care about what the crime families lost). But re-opening the economy to legitimate investment with a public pledge that that they will never again nationalize would win me over today. Cuba is a wonderful country with tons of potential, but it has to be open to fair, mutually beneficial investment.

And if Castro did one thing right it was he invested in education. I think there are billions from former Cubans that would be reinvested.

With guarantees their investments would not just be stolen by the government as soon as it was convenient, possibly.
