We used to have this thing called "names." You would introduce yourself by your name, and perhaps even a nickname and people would address you based on the name you provided.

As for pronouns, that typically was never an issue and people would know based on how somebody was groomed and dressed, and even if that wasn't a giveaway, you can probably figure it out by taking a quick glance at somebody's frame. Broad shoulders and an Adam's Apple are clear indicators one way, and breasts with more of an hourglass figure are clear indicators the other way.

When is the last time you heard someone introduce themselves with pronouns?

No. It is forcing them to engage in identity politics.

I don't think I've ever heard someone introduce themselves with pronouns. I've had a few instances where I wish they had so I wouldn't have guessed wrong.

Except this isn't normal, it is stupid, and the reason behind it is damaging.

I haven't. Now, let me ask again: How is it not letting them be who they are?

Absolutely. I already said as much. If a kid feels the need to do so. So be it. But let’s just be honest. This is all about identity politics and an agenda by a minority. And it is embarrassing. It would be far more real if by chance one kid did it on their own.

When is the last time you had someone give you their pronouns lol!

I’ve never ‘had’ to do it, I do it contexts where other people do as a matter of solidarity and inclusiveness. ‘When in Rome…’

Is it a requirement? A bill was passed regarding pronouns. Part of Desantis’s effort to control speech, ban certain teachings and books…

“Florida Republicans on Wednesday approved bills to ban diversity programs in colleges and prevent students and teachers from being required to use pronouns that don't correspond to someone's biological sex,

with a sweeping bill that prevents school staffers or students from being required to refer to people by pronouns that don't correspond to the person's biological sex.“

So many things were "right for hundreds of years" that just don't fit anymore in this society. Things that NONE of us would want back.

With regard to use of a proper reference to a guide one is going to refer to a tour guide during the tour using either the guide’s name or the term “you”. As an example, a parent might ask a guide the question …. “Hey Paul, when you lived on campus, where did you grocery shop?”

The use of any other pronoun in reference to the guide during the tour would in all likelihood be a conversation that does not include the guide. And, more likely than not, that reference would be “the guide” as opposed to any normally occurring and commonly accepted personal pronoun. However, even if a traditional personal pronoun was used in reference to the guide, how would “he”, “she”, and/or “it” know since they were not part of the conversation? But, even if the guide was part of the conversation and heard what they felt was a pronoun that did not accurately reflect their chosen atypical gender identity…… what does it really matter, especially if the mis-gendering was not intentional and malicious?

    LOL!

A matter of solidarity is having kids do something they never would do and announce something everyone knows in order to placate to some moron administrator. K!
