Put him at Guard rather than Center. I would take him

    Arkansas OT Devon Manuel
Transfer supposedly will be a Gator according to a Arkansas writer.
6'9 310 from Louisiana. Was a starter last year when they beat us. RS Soph, Billy recruited him out of HS while at Louisiana.

What is up with these 6'7"+ OT? Including Goodwin and Hermann who are gone. CBN obviously loves extremely tall dudes.

    Excellent- he played LT!

Really nimble. You can see why he played BB... This would solidify the two deep on the OL.

He probably should have some more weight to play against the teams with bigger DL, and he needs to get more bend, but there is something to work with there.

He looked raw, IMO but with some athleticism the other OT didn't have so maybe some possibility of developing still.

He had a few false starts, but had the strength and athleticism to hold his own. Another year of development, I can see him taking Barber’s spot. He’s basically a year behind from his injury.

Dont get me wrong. I do think that there is a minimal size to be effective in the SEC, but Torrence was not great just because of his size but how he read the game. I never understood picking up Hermann despite his size. His movement and agility didn't suggest he was ever going to be a starter.

The same goes with George...he's huge (maybe too huge), but can't move well enough to be an OT.

He does seem to, but I would rather have somewhat smaller quicker strong guys that can move. Giant guys that can't move don't make good OL just because of size.

I agree he has some trouble with foot work to stop the pass rush well enough on the outside, but I think he has enough movement to be able to seal off for run plays and pull and pick up blitzing. I hope he accepts being an OG.

I think the thinking is that the game trending bigger and Napier wants to be ahead of the curb. Sign guys with the frame and the footwork that can be developed. Some work out, some don’t, but a Westphal is a perfect example of this to me.

He'll play against 250lb to 300lb egde guys, so I don't think he needs to get much bigger, if at all, at OT.

At 6'9, pad level will be a persistent issue. He didn't have issues in highlights, which of course he wont- :)

What I really liked is he was very fluid on the outside rush and he was quick on the 2nd level LB blocks.

Just gotta see if he commits.

I'm not talking about weight in general. I'm talking specifically to him. He looks light and will play against lower center of gravity DL. I like how he looks more fleet of foot though.
